Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yup on the Kvelertak opening. I'm pretty pumped, I just hate the fact that Portland has the worst metal "crowd" in the world. No one gets amped for bands, it's just a bunch of hipsters standing around drinking IPA's.

There are sometimes good crowds. Slayer @ Roseland a few years ago was rad. Lots of boobies everywhere.

Tugnut played a basement here in Vancouver a few years ago and that was a fun crowd! In fact between 2007 and 2010 Vancouver was a metal hotbed. Always killer shows downtown. Now it's all cover bands and karaoke again, though.

Yeah, there can be some good shows but those are usually the ones with cult following like Slayer. I went to a Converge show back for their newest album and that was the best show I've been too here. Every single person there was there for Converge and the place was moving. I lost my shoe, beanie and got a black eye, best birthday present ever.

very stable...that road in the video is hella rough, and it did a great job....i've never thought i was gonna break a fork before, but right around the 2:30+ mark, i was questioning the strength of a carbon steerer.....
Thats it, I'm getting the K-Edge, I used the helmet mount while tonight mountain biking and it jumped/bounced all over. Plus I feel like a giant dork when I wear it.

How did your footage with the silver compare? Was it failing with image stabilization?

For bike mounts I have tried a few now - I currently am using the gopro handlebar mount, but I've mounted it to the head tube instead. I just cut up a tube to protect the paint a bit, seems to be okay. The advantage is that I get a slightly more stable view once I disengaged from the handlebars.
Your typical day looks like a fun ride. I do 720/60 as well which is a very low setting on the black, but it just seems pointless to go higher than that...longer processing and editing times, plus the vids are just going on youtube anyway.

Went out with a friend and some of his co-workers for some drinks and food for a pre-Turkey day celebration. Enjoyed the temp drop riding home last night, cept for when I got home my hands were all tingly from no gloves. Looks like it may be time to break out the cold weather gear.

Not really looking forward to today. Thanksgiving location for my family changed houses around last minute and 4 aditional family members showed up last minute as well. Kind of want to just go ride for the day and do my own personal thing for it.

Non + black is on sale now for $250 at Best Buy. I bought one, I couldn't see a reason for spending an additional $150 for the +. I don't think I'll notice the minor differences.

Knocked out a quick thirty miles when waiting for turkey day celebrations, no matter what I do my feet always get frozen. Wool socks + Shoe covers and within 10 miles I can't feel my feet.

So not only did I get in a street ride this morning, I also put in 45 minutes on the trainer just to take the edge off and got the surly ready for a road ride tomorrow.

Agreed, the black+ is overkill if your destination is YouTube. The silver gets all the things I would have wanted. I do not need 4k resolution (yet).
