Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

so i settled yesterday with the guys insurance who doored me a few weeks back. damage was a totaled rear reynolds 46 carbon clincher, and a measly $100 copay for the ER (dislocated finger and stiff neck).

now i have 2,000 in my back account that wasn't there 24 hrs ago. time to buy bike ****!!!!!!! yes!

That company was started by a couple of Davis grads IIRC. I'm so sorry .
I also see these bikes all around campus and feel bad for the kids that ride them.

Today I bought a belt. Haven't had one in about 10 years. Always used a shoelace.

Went from a shoe lace to Louis V? That's like never owning a car to buying a Ferrari.

Today I opened the flyers from the local paper and saw ads for lawn mowers, BBQ's, bikes. Light at the end of the winter tunnel. Too bad daylight savings starts this weekend so I'll be getting up in the dark again.
