Today I ran into a very strange looking horse.

Today (yesterday) I finally commuted to work, it wasn't very far for me, just 24mi one way, the roads were less than desirable. But now it has me seriously considering something that has racks mounts, as riding with 20lbs on my back was less than fun.
|
You can't leave some of the 20lbs at work?

recovering from a century I did yesterday. I feel better than being hit by a Mac truck but worse than being run over by a moped. Only 400" of elevation in 96 miles! I came to realize hills are your friends on a fixed gear. Muscles get no relief by spinning downhill and standing uphill.
|
Today I got in 42 miles.

Today was around 20mi
Yesterday was 40mi Friday was ~20mi For me that is a lot of riding. My body has always been better at speed than endurance, but it was really great to be on the bike that much. |
Drive to Lafayette. Gonna be here for the week. Most likely make the drive over to the velodrome.
|
Today I rode 72mi. With a slammed 17d 110mm stem. My back is going to kill me tomorrow.
|
Rode to work in pouring rain.
Learned that plastic grocery bags are effective shoe covers for about 4 miles of my 9 mile commute. |

Boots were a little bit of an obstacle for me too this semester. That is until I said **** it and started riding in my work boots.

Finally got the right tool for my SunTour bottom bracket (these things are scarcer than hen's teeth):

Did you choose to ride in the rain or do you have no car? I hate riding in the rain. I hate getting wet and I hate when my bike gets wet lol.

i actually like riding in the rain, my only beef with it is having to change once i get to my destination, which means carrying more crap with me and needing to get there early
|
Rain is the best, you can lay down mad sweet skidzz.
today my six month old mw bag has a hole in the liner already. |

Today I finally took my new Wabi Classic out for it's first commute. :) Since I broke my humerus snowboarding the day after it arrived, it's been sitting for 4 months collecting dust on that shiny turquoise paint!

Wow dislike, I've been lusting after those bag lately. Just went soft after reading this.
Just have to take it to a seamstress sometime and get it fixed for like five bucks and they probably will refund that. |
