I'm pretty sure completes were around $100 when I was youngin', now I feel really old.

Definitely not fixed, I'd be dead. I think the farthest I've gone fixed is about 40 miles. Hoping to knock out a metric on it this year.

A fixed metric is on my list for this year too.

A fixed imperial is my bucket list, but that is not likely to happen until I retire and have time to train.

Today Aerospoke sent me an early April Fools shipment. They sent me a wheel with NO hole for the presta valve to go through.

I think me and you are the same age. I'll be 29 this year.

It was a perfect day today, thinka high of like 65 and blue skies and I suck at skating. I'm blaming it on new shoes/new complete.

More dirt today on the Univega, 50 miles and 5000ft elevation. I'm worried it still isn't enough for the big ride next week but it's too late and I'm going to suffer anyway. Btw, cross bikes on mountain bike trails is terribly fun. It was a good day to die (came close a few times)

ps. WHY DO PEOPLE MOVE LEFT WHEN YOU CALL "ON YOUR LEFT"?? I rode into the wall to avoid someone that did that (yes, she had fore warning) and I punctured my front tire. Later I was forced into huge sand pit because half the group moved right and the other half moved left. w.t.f.

Makes sense. There were so many hikers out today, it was getting a little ridiculous calling out on your left like every five minutes.

I just turned 34 at the beginning of March, but still pretty close. I just remember being in middle school and looking at catalogs wishing I could ride one of them.

This is why I tend to just give them about 5' and not say anything. Of course, that's much easier to do on the street.

I don't say anything on the street and just pass but people's heads are high in the sky and they take up the whole trail.

Don't worry even those of us who are alright on a skateboard blame the shoes every time we have a bad day. Can't stomp a benihana? It's the new shoes or the wind or the sun in my eyes or this song sucks or my shirt is too loose. Whatever we can blame to keep our pride. haha

that sucks. Believe it or not people here in NYC are pretty good with either staying straight or moving to the right when you say "ON YOUR LEFT". I have a problem with people just walking in the bike lane.

On the track, we shout "stick", which means stick to your line and don't move. Once I shouted "stick" to a newb who didn't know the protocols, and afterwards he angrily asked me why I was calling him a "dick."

I was shocked when I bought a complete around 2000. $120 at Cal Skate - I went with Powell's generic wheels though. Can't remember what they called those little wheels.

You should've skipped the preliminaries and just clotheslined him instead.

Today was a great day of riding for me. Was out on the fgfs with a bmx friend, we had a blast for like 4 hours hitting up spots. Then I ended the night with a 2 hour solo ride on the Steamroller. I know all my east coast dudes got in some good riding today....and if you didn't you're pissed.

I have a funny (graphic) story about a Benihana (not the trick)...my friend had eaten some bad bbq for lunch and was supposed to be going out for date night with his girl and some friends. They had just sat down at Benihana and the chef turned on the grill when he started feeling sick. He went to outside to get some air and thought he felt better. Came back in while the chef was cooking and the sickness came back. He then vom'd all over the grill. Needless to say he rushed to the bathroom with explosive food poisoning sickness. After about 30 minutes of expunging everything in his body, he came out to find the entire restaurant cleared out and only his friends there. Apparently, grilled puke wasn't that appetizing. Everyone also thought that the Benihana food was what made him sick, so the manager was freaking out.

I can't even imagine the horror, but its a funny story looking back on it now.

that is one of the greatest restaurant stories ive ever heard

last night we took our friend out for his bday and theres this cute waitress that also works at the college with me who i always flirt with. when we get in shes like oh god not you again and proceeds to hang out at our table as much as possible and keeps sitting in the booth next to the birthday boy. so we keep telling him (hes a shyguy but girls flirt with him all the time) that shes into him and he keeps failing to pull the trigger. finally we all leave after she ****s up the check so bad that we all have to sit there doing trigonometry to figure out what the hell happened and how to split the bill were on our way out and were like wtf man. so were standing outside for like 15 mins we push him back in there to get her number and he does. it was a big moment for him lol.

Went skating in the AM then did a good 40-45 miles with 8 of those miles being standing hill repeats on Mt Tabor. My legs hurt now.
