Oops I missed your post.... sowwie about that.

They *do not* roll better than formulas but the placebo effect is strong. Want to know something crazy? You can buy the exact same cartridge bearings that comes with their hubs and press them into formulas for some serious not-phils.
I paid premium for quality and looks but mostly looks. If you're commuting to work everyday by bike, might as well look FABULOUS while you do it.

Protip: if you want your wheels to roll better, invest in better rubber, not hubs. OR for that combined placebo effect, phils & nice rubber.

Yep! Haha. If you're going to have custom wheels built though it's hard to not to justify getting what you *really* want. I'm between Phils and Profile (the ex-BMXer in me will never die.) right now.

And no, I don't want to get into why. If you don't understand, be happy you have a healthy brain.

ive been going through this for about 8 months now and i have to be out by the same date and time, thankfully we managed to score a decent apartment by the skin of our teeth but it was really close to becoming a gypsy myself

i feel your struggle man, being an adult really blows sometimes. just try to keep a positive outlook and keep laughing, if you stop laughing thats when the suck really comes

Roanoke Virginia has a pretty low cost of living, you can get a studio apartment (where you won't get stabbed) for like 500 or so per month.
There really isn't a super ghetto part of town compared to bigger cities.
We've got quite a few homeless people that hang out downtown near the shelters but I honestly can't imagine not having at least a cheap apartment or rental around here, you can get by while working at walmart.

Oh, but the drug use among squatters and other travelers/dirty kids is prevalent, so if that's part of jhess' problem then it might be best to avoid that scene...

Today I got to work, saw how nice out it was and just couldn't waste the day inside. Took the rest of the day off, got the bike out and went for a nice long ride through downtown Indianapolis on the monon to the cultural trails. It's a new dedicated bike trial that weaves throughout the city. First time taking it but really made me enjoy parts of the city I hadn't been through in months.

The terribly steep ones have steps for sidewalks and I was trying not to flip backwards as I cranked up. They almost all look like the photo.

Today I was like, I can eat ice cream every day if I want to. Turns out I don't want to.

Also started planning my vacation for the fall. I plan on hitting San Francisco, Portland and Seattle on a hobo bus trip up the coast. Not bringing bikes cause ain't nobody got time for that, but should be fun if I can make it work.

Not a low blow to the winner but his yellow jersey podium pic from this year's TDF made my day. My sqrl actually pointed it out to me.
