Tonight I managed my way to Brooklyn to visit a Metal bar. That was cool except for the dumb drunk party people all over Brooklyn. Then I kinda got lost in the subway trying to get back into Manhattan.

Today I'm recovering from yesterday. Yesterday I rode 75 miles, 2800' of elevation, fixed gear in Texas heat. Spent as much time recovering in AC at store stops as on the road. Not one of my better ideas. Set a new record for Slow Riding contest!

Today I ordered the rest of the gear that I need for autumn/winter camping, which included a bunch of paracord, a hultaford bushman axe and a snugpak tactical sleeping bag. God, I've got so much gear coming this week it's going to feel like christmas, but better.

Had a frog jump into my wheel today. Thought it was just a leaf in the road, but when I got next to it, it jumped, landed in my front spokes, spun around a couple times, and was flung out at my leg. Surprisingly, it seemed to survive, at least it hopped away afterward!

Paced a roadie for about 10 miles. He was all clipless and kitted up. Surprisingly he talked to me and seemed like a cool guy. Other than being slow as **** up hills........

Some kids stole my pedal straps while I was eating lunch with a friend. When I came back to my bike a local guy told me he saw some some kids were messing with my bike and pointed to a group of young kids on the sidewalk. I tried to chase them down but they split up in different direction when they saw me in terminator mode.
Damn kids.
Damn kids.

I ride fixed and geared but I always find that the fixed gear crowed always tries to "pace" or pass me when I'm riding my road bike. Also, clipless & kits doesn't make you a good rider, just makes you look like you know what you're doing. I've seen people look like that get passed by CitiBikes.

I go faster up hills with my fixed gear because I usually just spin going up hills on my road bike as its easier on the legs, especially if I'm just doing some distance or casual riding.

The funny thing is, I do the same thing (hypocrite, I know). Its good to pace yourself with someone, regardless of what bike they're on. Even though I ride a road bike I sometimes feel like I have something to prove when I'm on my fixed gear, especially because I use it for training.

It gets even more funny when the roadie can't shake you on your fixie by increasing their pace and ends up giving up and turning onto a side street.
The funniest I've had happen was the roadie turned down a short dead end street where there was nothing besides an SDGE substation. q.q

@Leukybear its always good to have someone quit on you, the little things that make it worth the pain.
Today I ordered a Cyclocross bike.
I was going to get a CAADX 105 but I decided to go for titanium and get a BD bike (got good reviews and has better compontents) Motobecane Fantom Cross Pro Ti. I didn't opt for the team version since I am ok with Rival over Ultegra (my CAAD10 has Force 2). Hopefully I like it.

i testrode a CAADX ultegra last year and it didnt seem exceptionally more "lively" than my leader
i think if i ever get a cross bike itl be a custom job with clearance for monster tires
today i am recovering from the show last night, got nailed in the face by a pitfist and mustve thrown up 40 people crowdsurfing. my ears are still ringing, BTF and chiodos killed it last night
despite being exhausted i went to ikea and fit an abnormal amount of **** into my sedan and brought it home, ill build it another day.

I'm jealous, I need to get myself in a pit soon. Though I hate the swinging arms, Karate kick kids, they need to be beaten. The last stone sour concert was a good old fashion pit, I need those.

Today I snapped my road bike handlebars. You know why? Because I changed them. To steel one, because I wanted to train on heavier equipment.

Today I:
Got 3 miles from home and realized my left crank had loosened up and was coming off.
Pedaled another 1.5 miles, one footed, to the gas station. Then gave up and had to have a coworker come pick me up.
