Flip side is at least you're not in pieces along with that CAAD. Heal up.
Where was this?
#8253
Still kicking.
That sucks, heal up. Hearing more and more about people getting hit.

Northpoint and Levensworth. I had the green on Columbus coming down N point prolly doing 30, steep hill, and he hollywood'd the stop sign. Braked as hard as I could, rear wheel was even off the ground, moved as far right as I could before making contact, smacked his front right quarter panel and went sailing. Intersection full of witnesses as I lost my cool. Tore the dude a few new ******** while some nice people got his info.

Riding in the city is always a risk; even on market st. with all those painted lanes. As people are selfish and will do stupid things if they perceive there is a benefit and they can get away with it and ultimately, those caught in between pay the price.
That's why I like to stick to country roads and suburbs most times.

Damn,
Hopefully its not broken. I hate when people drive like Morons. Hopefully his insurance will be paying any bills and a replacement bike.

Still alive. I may survive this heat wave yet, but the bike is gonna have to enjoy some nap time. Don't know how the desert dwellers do it.

Bummer. Heal quickly, bud!
Everything they say about "but it's dry heat" is so true. Central Florida is nasty and swampy and you need fans or a/c at like 75 degrees or you're sweating balls. Visited my friend in Santa Fe, NM and nobody has central a/c. Lots of people have swamp coolers (similar to conventional a/c) but you honestly didn't need it at all. 90 degrees and hanging out comfortably with the doors and windows open. So, so nice... Might be moving out that way with the lady soon.

Heal up Nag... Glad that the bike is in pieces instead of you. It sounds like you handled your bike as best as you could in that situation.
Also, make sure you value everything on your bike at MRSP to get maximum $$$ from his insurance.

Hope you're able to heal quickly. Riding in the SF?
I don't think it'll be useful for my career...then again I have no clue what i'm doing
Taking that at 7 in the morning would be uh, quite stimulating. What do you plan on doing in science?
I'm not into math-y stuff either so I plan on dropping it soon. That class sounds nice! I haven't had a class like that yet, but the way i'm going i'll probably find a class like that sooner or later. No clue what i'm going to major in, but I like learning so I keep taking classes.
Went to the Renaissance faire and boy was that cool! So many cool costumes & hand crafted items. Maybe I'll go back before it's gone & make a couple of items for a costume . Anyone else ever go to a ren faire?
Working in the garden & taking my bike to REI today. Can't get those damn Rando tires back on the rim. Before my troubles were in getting them off, now it's getting them on.
Good luck! I know it seemed boring when I took it. Although, I know it's going to be an important feature in my hopeful science career. My mistake was taking a 7:00 AM class for stats, so I skipped the last couple weeks and bombed the Central Limit Theorem portion of the final. Whoops...

That statistics class sounds rough, but I'm not really into math-y stuff.
Having no one in the class is great! It can be hard because classes here work in a conference style, though that's also one of the best parts. It just means you need to pay attention and actively contribute. I only have one lecture a week and everything else is done via discussion with peers with a professor moderating/guiding. I absolutely love it.

I posted in the wrong thread earlier but, I found a chrome bag in a garbage pile Friday night then had an alley cat Saturday night. All in all it was a good weekend. Dog was not included in the find.

Everything they say about dry heat isn't true. 115/120 sucks no matter what in every way.

Today I put in 33 miles. Farthest I've gone non-stop since I started riding fixed.
Hope to be able to do a century by next August for the city's big cancer fundraising ride.

Today was the first day I really got bothered by the black nerf foam on the bars of the old Fuji I built up.
Need to get that off and have them wrapped soon.
hipster pic from today. Wish I was better at taking pics of myself riding since I ride alone 99% of the time.

Today I checked out new refrigerators. My 20+ y/o Amana refrigerator is starting to die. This has been a very expensive year for my house with an all new AC/gas furnace unit, gas water heater with major mods to the house to meet code and new tile floor and toilet in the master bathroom. Also, when I took my 11 y/o Ford F150 in for its $40 annual state inspection, I ended up having to spend nearly $500 for new wiper blades, new rear wheel brake pads and a new passenger door power window regulator when the tech lowered the window and it wouldn't come back up.
Old stuff, man !

While you're at it push that right lever out a little bit and that left lever out a little bit more.

I actually took the rear brake off the other day and haven't gotten around to removing the right hand lever and hood.
also... I like the feel of where the left lever is, rotated in a little bit. Is there any practical benefit to moving it back to a fully straight forward position? Maybe that's a silly question, sorry

Nah, not really. I know a dude who always rolls with knock-kneed levers, mostly cuz he crashes ALL the time. His bars are all bent outta shape, too.
