Vilano edge Cromoly VS PureFix PAPA
So i am getting a new fixed mine is out of commission but i am on a budget. I dont have time or money to build my own right now so i have narrowed it down to these two first is the Vilano https://www.amazon.com/Vilano-Fixed-F...rds=fixed+gear
the other is the purefixed PAPA here
https://purefixcycles.com/products/pa...y-orange-fixie
So here is the deal I really like the Purefix PAPA and it has a lot of really good reviews more importantly they have an amazing reputation for customer service if something happens to the bike. The problem is that it doesn't come with a few things i would like it to, mainly foot straps and the bullhorn Bars. As you can see from the pictures the Vilano already comes with them and is a lot cheaper. But looking at the Vilano the brakes and crank look a little cheep and although it had pretty good reviews some people did complain about cheep parts and the pure fix had better reviews overall and when someone complained about a cheep or broken part they said pure fix immediately replaced them. I would love to know what you guys think and what suggestions you have **********??

Both of them are really heavy and very cheap partswise, my roommate bought a Vilano against my advice and within 5~ months of casual riding his cranks are coming loose and is unable to ride on the fixed side without having to replace the cog/lockring. His Vilano weighs probably 27 lbs too, don't think he's ever weighed it but it's disgustingly heavy for a SS. Also I have a friend back home who bought a Purefix(I think that's what it was) and pretty much the same thing.
Save your money and get a Kilo TT, depending on your CL you can get a pair of bullhorns for 15-20~ bucks and can get single straps/cages for around thirty.

Your cog is slipping.
The rims on a Kilo TT are fine. Even if they were complete crap, you'd rather buy a whole bike that was made of throwaway parts? Logic is logical.

How do these big box bike brands come up with their dumb names for their "colorways" (lol.)?
PureFix isn't the only I've noticed that does this.

Seconded. They're Weinmanns, unlike [unknown china deeeeeps] and the only knock is that they have loose-ball hubs.
Think about what frame you're buying when you buy a bike at this price point. You can always upgrade crap components (i would characterize the Kilo as having "meh," not crap, components) on a solid frame; you should not upgrade crap components on a crap frame.

Don't know about the other brands, but all the PureFix names are taken straight from the military alphabet. Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Echo, etc.

ill have to jump in line with everyone else advising you to get a kilo TT. the wheelset is not bad, and the frame is much better than your other two options.
