You're still not really saying anything but If that's what you need to get off your chest to make yourself feel better, by all means...

I can't wait until the guy from Unknown bikes comes in to ramble on about how "innovative" his frames are.

Pointing out to others on this forums that your opinion is influenced by the money you make, not necessarily the quality of a product is saying quite a lot.

He didn't say that anywhere, you did.

Scrodzilla 06-28-13 03:05 PM

Exactly.

Aside from that, the money I make comes from selling products I use, endorse and stand behind. It's not like EAI or All-City is cutting me a big fat check every month for selling their stuff.

If I think something sucks, my shop won't sell it (regardless of the "demand" for it). Period.

There's no doubt in my mind that State has improved quite a bit since arriving on the scene and will likely continue to improve but are you honestly saying you'd rather ride a mediocre frame that is just a rehash of other companies' existing frames (which nobody rides but has oodles of "character") than a nice frame a lot of people have?

Whatever works for you, bro.

Sorry if i was mistake by thinking he was talking about Leader here?

Scrod I realize the profit margins in selling complete bikes and frames are slim and most shops make money off of the smaller products they sell.

How do you know you wouldnt endorse this product if you want try it and it is poop from the start?

Scrodzilla 06-28-13 03:13 PM

Why are you so fixated on Leader? Oh yeah...because the similarities between the Undefeated frame and a 725 really are that obvious.

I'm not concerned with (or even talking about) profit margins or sales here. Even if I didn't own a shop but still had the same knowledge and experience, I wouldn't buy or ride the Undefeated frame because it just doesn't appeal to me. I wouldn't ride a Visp or an Unknown either. I guess I'm just that elite.

Mainly because of you, now. State really should be more careful about who represents them if they want to be taken seriously. It's a good thing they're not paying you.

richpool 06-28-13 03:25 PM

Because that was the reference you were making, was it not? maybe you can follow this

Scrod says: A mediocre frame that is just a rehash of other companies existing frames

mjfarsi says: Our Undefeated frame is lighter than the Leader 721, 725, and 735 we are using double butter 7005 Aluminum.

Scrod says: but mediocre is exactly what it is. I dont need to ride one to see it's a dime-adozen aero-tubed aluminum frame with a seat cutout.

Seems pretty clear to me you are unwilling to try new products as a shop owner.

Scrod If you let me simply pointing out you calling things crap for no reason on an internet forum reflect your opinion on them you are an even worse shop owner then I thought. Also what are you going to do about those companies you already stock that I have worked with.

Facts are I will always back a company for the things I have mentioned above. Good ownership, quality design, quality customer service and community support. Even if I have no affiliation to them. If you cant be a fan of a company like that I feel bad for you.

Scrodzilla 06-28-13 03:27 PM

Yes, feel bad for me. Do that all day long.

I guess when the sales rep from Pure Fix came in, I should have dropped what I was working on to have him blow smoke up my ass for an hour and listen to him ramble on about stuff I didn't care about, then proceed to become a Pure Fix dealer.

Dude, feel free to e-mail or call the shop if you want to continue having your ass handed to you. I'm done reading your stupid posts written in that teeny tiny Times New Roman font.

richpool 06-28-13 03:27 PM

Sound like you shouldnt be a fan of me then ;). I dont represent them Im a cyclist and firm believer in not letting people get bullied by internet tough guys.

No man Im trying to talk to you as honest and as sincere as possible. I just dont think you get it. I would hope you would have taken the time to talk to the man, perhaps even ride one around the block and then form your own opinion. Its fine to dislike things. Its not fine to hate on things without reason. Ignorance posted on places like this creates more ignorance. Im sure when people come into your shop you tell them what you think, let them test ride then come to their own opinion before purchasing. I would just hope you would do the same here. thats it.

I find turtles to be inferior to tortoises.

Okay enough. Show's over.

Thank you State bikes for coming in to offer help to your customer. I'm sure a lot of us are impressed by it. Good luck on your venture forward! :)
