Can't find this Sugino Pista anywhere outside of eBay, questioning legitimacy, would not buy.

Not sure. The branding on the crank arms looks legit, but I've never seen that chain ring before.

The valleys of those teeth look uncharacteristically flat and the bolts are not recessed.

Send a message to the seller and ask for close-up, detailed pictures of the back of the crank arm and see what's stamped there.

The RD2 is close to, if not the same, as the Messenger cranks. Unless you have a problem crunching up chainrings with your excessive leg power the provided chainring should work. Anyway the price is in line for RD2 crank arms without a chainring.

Actually I got the RD2 (cranks and chainring) from Ben's Cycle on Ebay for the exact same price. For some reason, it's listed as just RD, but it's stamped RD2 on the cranks.

There are some used one listed here.

Maybe your eyes can make out what's on the backside. My old eyes can't.

Even then, I'm not sure what that would matter in the world of knockoffs. It just seems they would put their efforts into sunglasses, handbags or shoes rather than wasting time to duplicate some stupid bike cranks.
