My 79 Panasonic track bike. It's a year rounder here in St Lou but we don't get much snow. I now have brakes on it (trying to save my knees).

Yah, that's the size I'd need... found a really nice used 61cm and it was a bit too big. (PM me if you're looking for one in the Twin Cities! I hated not to be able to get it; seller was a stand-up guy, price was right and the bike was in perfect shape.)
So, until I find one, I'm putting some winter tires on the steamroller.

80s Giant-built Schwinn World, All Terrainosaurus pictured but running Nokian Hakkapeliittas now because snow & ice, Lasco cranks with Shimano 39t chainring, 16t cog, MKS sylvans, sweet Nitto risers. Good enough for my short commute all winter long here in snowy New England

I know this is a FGFS bike but it's a beast in the snow. I don't run a front brake because I never really ride to fast on this bike. 2.10 knobby tires have worked great this winter so far.

27x1-3/8" Kenda knobbies on there, this thing can't really handle the Montana winter, it wont power through a foot of fresh snow every week. I'm going to sell my car for a SS 29er.

Inaugural ride today, 50 miles / 3100 feet in the freezing rain.
I ended up on this nasty hill by mistake and allllmost made it up in 42x16, but the last kicker is >20% and I couldn't quite do it.

Here's my daily fix(ie). All dressed up for winter with the big Odyssey Triple Trap pedals, Planet Bike fenders and Kenda Knobbies. I bought it as a closeout in about '98 and soon abandoned it for lighter faster better. I did the FG build from my parts bin. The cranks are Suginos from a Fuji. I just wanted to try out a fixie. Now I'm hooked. The only parts I purchased were the seat, cog, HB bag, and the brake lever. I'm still digging around for a DiaCompe center pull caliper for the front. The side pull is weak. The gearing is 46x18 which is just under 70 gear inches. The flipped bars are really comfortable and work well with winter gloves. The whole bike is comfortable with boots and a heavy coat for us street clothes riders.

Same as the summer bike but because we've not gotten any snow and I moved about 10KM closer to actual Mountain Bike trails the Blur gets ridden more and the Earl just sits next to my computer

They need some, but they stop and I've been in cheap mode for the last few months. What I find really strange though is the backwards and opposite side uneven wear. Front NDS and rear completely but more on DS the brakes are weird.

Had KoolStop MTB pads on. No substantial difference. These X Large super soft rubber pads I have on are vintage Brand unknown and work OK. I had other side pulls that were better but interfered with the fender. Center pulls rock IMHO.

Yeah, yeah. I've heard them called that and worse but they are a blast from my own past. The kids in my neighborhood and some of the grownups had these. I kept the steel patina, too. Also resurrected the cheese grips. What about a bar mounted cup holder? That would yuppie it up, huh?
Once you get past the epithets, they are real easy on the shoulders, the bars of choice for bike dancers. and the reverse brake lever works well there.
I think fixies, beaters, city bikes, daily riders, etc open a cultural door to some styling irreverence. It's kid fun again. Helps us get the seatposts out of our asses.

Here's my full time neighborhood-bike/cruiser - It's an SS29'er.
Those are 2.0" Big Apples on it (may go to 2.35s" later), and that's the 21" frame because I'm 6'3". I'm sure it baffles some of my neighbors, but at 71 I still love riding.
