Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Need help for first bike!

don't really know too much about bikes but I am a runner and many of my teammates ride single speed and after riding theirs around i feel like that is what i would like... my budget is anywhere from 200-700 but i would definitely like to stay under 400 if possible. Im about 5'8 and about 140lb, im looking to be riding anywhere from one mile too about 40-50. ive been searching on sites for a style that i like and i think my favorite so far would be anything that looks like this
if you could please give me a name of a good bike that u believe would fit me well or even give me a link to a bike id really appreciate it

I've been looking at the mercier kilo tt pro and the only reason why i haven't ordered it yet is because i don't know what kind of single speed freewheel i would need to convert it... if u have any idea on what to do about that id appreciate any help

Buying on style is a recipe for disappointment. While it's certainly important to be able to enjoy looking at a bike, buy on value over style.

The Kilo TT Pro is awesome for the price, and it will use any standard freewheel in common production. Good luck.
