42T used to be a really common inner chainring for road bikes, so there are plenty of used ones out there in good shape, too.

I'm also looking to get a 42T chainring replacement for my wife's Torker. I've been having trouble finding 1/8" chainrings, which my friend who is helping with this said is important, the couple that I have found are all $50+, is that the range I should expect to pay (vs. ~$30 for a 3/32")?

Thanks for the info, I thought he had said that if I got a 3/32" that it would wear quicker with a 1/8" chain, but maybe I misunderstood. How about inner, outer, or center?

So, does that mean the only thing I have to worry about when getting a replacement is # of teeth and BCD? Sorry, still a bit new at this and confused about all the options.

Thanks for the link. I don't see an exact matchup there which I think is the same as the OP (42T, 130mm BCD), but it gives me a better understanding of what certain terminology means and what is going on. So I guess the other thing I want to look out for is not to get a ramped and pinned chainring, and I also want to make sure that the teeth are symmetrical (where as for geared bikes they won't be)?
I'd been wanting to buy via Amazon since I have some credit there right now, but I'm thinking it might just be safer to buy the FSA that GregJones linked to or one of the others linked earlier in the thread.
