80 mm rims???? FOR 500 BUCKS!!?!?!?

http://www.amazon.com/Carbon-Clinche...025773&sr=1-41 I found these on amazon. Would you trust them? Would you buy them?
I bought a pair of rims that everybody said they would fail me, for 200 bucks. They've lasted me years and have been through the learning pains of a fixed rider. So, would you buy rims off the internet ?

I wouldn't touch those with a 10' stick just because I don't care all that much for deep profile rims.

If they were a legit online company and they had what I was looking for, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to get a rim from an online vendor.

I didn't look past the link but, those won't fit a 120mm track frame.

Quality carbon clinchers can be found for $500 all over the internet, I'm not sure about 80mm, but I picked up my last set of 50mm wheels for $450.

Before I bought these, I'd just watch slowtwitch and various other bike forum sale sections and see what pops up.
Hey guys, lets go play bikes!

Purchase on ebay with paypal linked to a credit card.
    You have three outs.

Do your research on credible sellers and products.

Does your converted road frame make lockrings obsolete?

Just because it's carbon doesn't mean they'll be any good or light. I can build a wheelset that's 3x better than those for less than half their cost.

Oh yeah, the wind, especially cross winds will not be your friend with those. You'll find yourself having to constantly mind your ride. Don't believe me? It's just the low low price of $500 to find out.

How on earth can you possibly quantify that?

Let's see. 1x for materials. 1x from being hand built. 1x from money better spent elsewhere on bike like tires/ kept in wallet.

Forgot to mention if it's a first wheel build for OP that's another 1x for a possible grand total of 4x better than those faux-808's.

Plus, considering the amount of human rights violations in China, those wheels could've been built by children. So that's like -1x there for a possible grand total of 5x if 1st wheel build for OP or 4x.

Plus plus, OP'll get SS/FG approval with wheels other than those so that's another +1x.

I said quantify, not arbitrarily assign multiplicative values to things.

    Oh, 1x1x1x1=1.

Don't forget better quality control with the parts themselves.

    1x+1x+1x+1x=4x

    1 time better + 1 time better +... = X times better

    "better" is subjective.

    Quantify, not qualify. Thanks.

Say I were to buy these rims from my local bike shop. How would I know that he didn't buy them off of amazon himself? I also know that the rims dont make you go faster. I know people, younger than me at that, that can smoke me on a 20 year old bike regardless of what bike I have. I'm just curious as to see what other people think about them. And considering that they go out of stock rather quickly Im guessing more than enough people have them

I've had a pair of China 88's. I got them off ebay from a reputable seller.
Even at 200 pounds cross winds suck.

Regardless of anything really, these are road bike wheels. You have a fixed gear bike. Stahp.

Oh, and they'd definitely make you faster. At least 1x faster, maybe even another 1x.
