Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Reputable Bike Sales Sites?

Well, was looking at buying the Kilo TT Mercier but as it turns out Bikes direct doesn't keep on top of what is current and in stock on there site and after emailing them directly, no Kilo's of any size are in stock. It's actually pretty hard to find a bike that decent under around 600 bucks. If the Mods allow, could you guys maybe post some links to sites you may have had good dealings with that actually has in stock what there site shows? Looking a nice baseline platform, complete bike with sealed bearing wheelset, cranks etc, something complete in a 56cm that I can just do a little customizing to my liking. Not really into the whole fixed thing but do love a nice single speed track style bike with front and rear brakes. Thanks in advance.

Sign up for the BD email and let them spam your inbox until you find the one you want back in stock- then pounce on it.

Seems I get an email whenever one of their shipping containers clears the port..

They don't have much in the way of SSFG bikes.

fyxation is pretty good quality and you can get a complete for under $600. I see a Kilo TT pro in 55 on BD and that might fit you and there is the Kilo WT also

Anyway. Does it have to be a Kilo TT ? It's not a SS bike anyway, and that's what you said you really want, not a FG track bike. What's wrong with the Dawes SST AL ? It's a SS and has good wheels with sealed cartridge hubs for $429.

I heard that retro-gression store is pretty good. The owner has a beard, *had* dreads, and likes cats. Much legits.

Welcome to Bikesdirect customer service. For help with your purchase press 1. For non-existent help with sizing press 2. For faux-help with an order press 3. We appreciate your business. Your call may be monitored and recorded for training purposes.

It doesn't have to be a Kilo, just seems that most sites list sizes they don't currently have in stock. I was planning originally to add a quality White freewheel to it. How old is the sticky up top? Is it still current?

When you go to the checkout, they aren't available.
Tried ordering a day or two ago.

I bought one of these in September:

http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12294000

It comes in a pearlescent copper color, too. The 55cm might fit you. It's a serviceable bike.
