Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikeforums SS/FG personified...

Poor noobs who dare to ask questions about purchasing a fixed gear bike get flamed/ridiculed - but colored backgrounds behind a cut-out in a stem leads to a discussion?

Where's all those computer smashing smilies?

Once you've become a member of the clique, you gain diplomatic immunity. Anything goes.

Well, it does look pretty cool. I'm kind of tempted to do this to mine now.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Edit: Also, the questions about new bike purchases are usually the same basic questions asked by different people again and again, which gets old after a while. My little stem thing hasn't been done here before, which could lead to discussion about how to make it better. idk

Good call. Brighter shade of pink. Doesn't look purple anymore.

Given the choice between what Kilo little Johnny should order with mom's card and a custom 3t stem? I choose custom 3t stem.

Got some new bits for my Centurion -- It's now an 18sp up from 12 thanks to a beat up pair of HED's and some Durace shifters Probably going to be rebuilding the HED's with some new rims in the next few months. Still have to swap out the stem for a longer one that i have but i'm to lazy to buy grip tape currently.

We call these hills around my area. And, at my age, a mile long hill at 10%, leaves my legs hurting!!!
