I was told about the Mr. Pink about a month ago, had extra cash at the time and thought it'd be a great bike for commuting. I never really committed, but told the shop to give me a call when it came in and that I would likely take it off their hands. The call never came so I went to the shop this past weekend to shoot the **** - ended up telling one of the employees that I was excited about the Mr. Pink but think I should probably hold off at this point and would like to build up a Cannondale with them soon. So we started goofing around putting together builds and he said he'd send me some estimates.

Monday he sent me an estimate that was within my budget, so I sent a note to the shop owner saying that I was going to forego the Mr. Pink and build the Cannondale instead. He calls me immediate, tells me he'd knock $1k off the Mr. Pink and $600 off the Cannondale build if I paid for both of them that day.

I really couldn't turn down the offer, so now I have two new bikes on the way. The frame for the Cannondale isn't available until November, so it'll be a bit before it gets built up, but I'll have the Mr. Pink to keep me entertained in the meantime.

Edit to add: I picked up the SiSL crankset on ebay, new for $200. I have a brand new spiderring for it at home, so I can ditch the MKV rings. I think the SiSL crankset is around $975 MSRP or something ridiculous. I couldn't really beat that deal either.

Is there a road specific pedal as simple as SPD? I'm "sorely tempted" as well.

When I dialed in my speedplay, I tightened down the float so it was directly in the middle and then backed off the screw on each side an even number of turns. I think I have about 3 dashes on each side of the center line. I find this to be very close to the float available with the yellow spd-sl.

I've read blogs from fitters that say you should leave them wide open and that your leg will adjust to all of the float over time and it's actually better for your joints, but I can't handle my ankle moving around like that when I'm trying to climb or sprint out of the saddle.

For the screws that hold the cleat to the shoe, I tighten them until the first click, then I turn the screw another 1/4 turn which is another click (when I say click, there is no real click, but it kind of feels like it when you're tightening the screw.

I've used the speedplays for almost a year now, and I have to be honest, I liked spd-sl better and will probably go back to that setup in time.

The reproductions of my bike's decals are in the works.

First gauge I've owned with the 90 degree angle too, which is luxurious compared to the straight ones I've been using for decades.

I also got a digital caliper the other day and spent a half hour in my garage measuring All The Things.

I've had one of their tire gauges for 25+ years. Currently kicking around inside my daughter's Honda.

Me too. I've always had the straight one for Schraeders for my car and motorcycles. I wanted a good Presta gauge so I checked their site and they offered the 90 degree jobbies as "Bicycle gauges" in versions from 15-160 PSI. And mini gauges for your tool pack. I couldn't find one on line, nor any place that could order that specific model. So I called them directly and they Said, "Mail a check and we'll send you one." I also like that the face doesn't include BAR readings. Less cluttered and easier to read.
