I have a pair of those Republics. A few of the rubber soles tore off/screws fell out and it's a PITA to get replacements, but yeah they look nice.

No. The couple Giro retailers I tried many months ago told me their retailers didn't even stock them. I have no idea if they're more readily available now. I thought the shoes were okay when I did use them. I got really tired and annoyed of the laces.

I love the laces on my Giro Empires...different strokes, I guess.

Went a bit nuts at Retrogression today...
Brooks Saddle
4 32c Pasela PT tires
and a sw8 Retrogression hat!

^She wanted some pink on her bike and she likes that kind of saddle profile. I found a like-new one on eBay for $50. She approved. Should look rad.

If they made that shoe with an elegant strap closure of some type I'd be ALL OVER them. Love the look, but no laces for this guy.

I justified it by telling myself I got fancy free bar plugs...the downside, it's the best tape I've ever used so now I'm hooked. Just bought two more sets last weekend.

Due to lack of adjustments while spinning? I am not really experiencing any negatives with my lace ups.

Did you put all the Campy bits on your bed and roll around on top of them naked? Because I probably would have.
