Need help with attack clip on pedals

I have a set of Time Impact clips, since I gave my son my looks I put this on my Planet X and I was not able to clip in for my life, I went for a ride and tried to clip in for about 30 minutes and was not able to. I tried to adjust the tension and nothing has anyone had this issue ? Are this pedals any good or should I get something diff ?

Thanks !

No specific knowledge of those pedals, but the cleats look pretty beat up. You may want to try new cleats.

Loosen the tension and see if you can get the mechanism to move with your hands, no tools, don't catch a screwdriver in the face.

Cleats look beat, but not so much you couldn't clip in.

Get a death grip on the spindle (or tread the pedal into a crank arm) and twist the heel of the shoe out.
