Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? The past, actually... There was a thread I can't find with links to a bunch of videos, and descriptions/specs on the bikes. They use almost a 1:1 ratio, and the headsets are insanely tight.

I'm too tired to find the thread right now...

"An artistic bicycle has an extremely short wheelbase to make it easier to perform. Artistic cycling uses a special bicycle for performing tricks for a period of 6 minutes. Riders perform routines consisting of movements selected in advance from a list of twenty-eight types. Points are awarded based on the judges' scoring of each rider."

Is there anyone in San Francisco that can do a no handed 360 backwards?
If so, show me! Oh yeah don't let the front wheel touch the ground.

It's not that impressive really when you're running a 1:1, it's probably about as hard to do a regular reverse 360 for those of us who can.

Google "artistic cycling" for many more videos.
