6061 Black Label?

Has anyone here tried State Bicycle co. 6061 Black Label or have any opinions on it? Have not been able to find many reviews of it. Custom Track Bike | 6061 Black Label - Matte Black | State Bicycle Co.

I am looking for a light urban commuter in the <1000 price range. Aluminum frame and possibly carbon fork would be preferred. I am currently riding a similar custom job but the frame is too large for me and parts are starting to wear after 3 years of daily use.

Suggestions for other bikes welcome. I have built my own before, but seems like pre-built options are much cheaper these days. Looking at Kilo TT and Windsor Hour as backups, but would prefer to not have a steel frame.

Your price range gives you a lot of options. While State has been improving in recent years I can't say I like the fork or the bars on that complete bike. You might be best off looking at your lbs. Otherwise, if you ask @Scrodzilla at retro-gression politely, he might be able to hook you up with a complete leader 725 that is rocking in that same range. His, site says they are sold out but I'd be surprised if he didn't have anything on his shop floor that he was willing to ship.

Thanks for the quick advice.

Along those lines, is there a good directory of quality manufacturers for someone who is new to buying bikes online? My google searching did not ever hit on retrogression/leader though they seem like some high quality outfits. Blind googling mostly turns up places which offer 50 customizable colors but don't tell you what the frame is made out of...
