Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

In The Gutter

Do you know what I always see in the gutters when I'm out on my rides? Gloves. Gloves of all kinds. Work gloves, winter gloves, dress gloves, kids gloves. I count them. Today I saw 7. Guess people just toss them out the windows.

just be thankful the hands aren't still in them. we've had some distrubing crimes here lately where a couple of people's body parts have been found in random locations.

my friend told me one day, upon his first visit to brooklyn, "all i see on the ground here are chicken bones and condoms..."

funny thing is, it's true.
