wrapping tape starting from the end of the handlebars????lol

Then using electrical tape to hold the tape in place??? Really. Someone on this forum said this is how everyone does it lmao...IF that is how everyone does it,,,many people arent using their mechanical sense.

I have been wrapping handlebars with tape for 48 years. The only way to do it is to start at the top of the handle bars,,,end at the end of the handle bars then push tape in , held in place with plugs. No need for sloppy electrical tape that will probably unwind sooner or later.

Starting from the handlebar end then holding the tape with sloppy electrical tape is one the stupidest things I have ever seen.

and that is the proper way lmao????

Try it with thick cork tape and let us know how it works out.

Also, anyone who claims to have been doing anything for 48 years and types things like "lol" and lmao" repeatedly is clearly a professional and not to be ****ed with.

It is indeed the proper way to tape a bar.
Wrapped as per the vids that Mr. 'Zilla laboriously dug-up for you the edges of the tape won't roll back when gripped firmly, with your method they will. Not acceptable.
A neat securing w/ good quality electrical tape, no gap at the levers and an even consistent wrap bottom to top are signs of a job done properly.

Everyone is born dumb. Some of us learn things and retain knowledge while others apparently stay dumb forever.

Can tape be wrapped the way howeeeeeeeeee is describing? Of course it can. However, declaring the way everyone typically wraps bars is "stupid" only displays his own ignorance and makes him come across as a childish fool.

Why is this in SSFG?

I used the tape that was already stretched out, so it was a little hard to use it again, but it came out fine, other than not as even as I would of liked it,,but it is fine looks way better without the electrical tape. I know some smart ass will point out it is not even.

Put it in the same direction. Could hardly go the other way once the tape was stretched in one direction. I just took the tape off put it right back on starting at the other end. Good try though

howeee, change in medication maybe? What happened to the guy who posted a while ago in the 50+ thread about respect and how mind boggling animosity is? Just because I happen to like the taped end of my wraps doesn't make me an idiot. And I don't use electrical tape, I use self-fusing tape. And my post count is highter than yours. And I'm over 50.

So there. I win.

Everyone who wipes there butt from front to back is doing it all wrong, its all about the back to front, your balls act as a mud flap. I've been wiping my own but for over 27 years.

Do you people honestly think front to back is the proper way?

If you have actually been wrapping handle bars for 48 years and you think that looks good, then I suspect that you are actually ******** or mentally handicapped in some significant way.

and that is the proper way lmao????
Many wrap their bar frm the end to the stem so that the overlapping layers don't have ridges that interfere with sliding one's hands about the bar. Some even start at the top of the hood and wrapp to the stem for ease of hand movement on the bar tops but then wrap from below the brake lever to the bar end so thatthe ridges help their hands stay on the lower part of the hooks when riding on the drops. Others will wrap from thebar ends up to the stem, very carefull cut the tape at the stem on an angle like a fillet and then crazy glue that end of the tape to their bar so they don't need electrical tape.

Cheers from Miele Man
