Hi fellas

I was talking to a friend about the reason why his single speed is dropping the chain when he puts a lot of power on it. I'm looking for any document that explores this and explains how it happens.

I know some bottom brackets, some cranks, some crank arms are stiffer than others, but I failed miserably in the search.

I'm asking here because the fixie folk knows about this better than the common riders

Cool link, but I imagine all of those cranksets are incomparably stiffer than your buddy's. Also I would guess the frame flexing combined with a bad chainline is the culprit, as the crankset's arm flex doesn't affect the plane the ring turns in.

Just pull the wheel back and tighten up the chain.
