Fork/Steer Tube Size for Masi Uno
Hey guys,
I have a 2012 Masi Uno and I super hate the fork on it. I wanted to pick up something different and I'm having trouble figuring out if it's a 1" or a 1-1/8". It doesn't say on Masi's site and their "Contact" page is fking useless. I was hoping someone here might be able to offer some insight as to what size I'll need. I love my bike, but I'm so annoyed at this point that I'm ready to put the stupid thing back on Craigslist and go buy something else. Why the hell doesn't Masi list that info on their site like EVERY OTHER BIKE MANUFACTURER IN THE WORLD?
Anyway... enough griping. Help me find a fork. I've got my eye on a couple at Bike Island, but they're all 1-1/8 size.
Lil' help, please.
Thanks,
Matthew

Your cog is slipping.
Dude, use a ****ing ruler.
Here, I'll break down the process for you:
1: remove the headset top cap
2. remove the stem
3. lay the ruler across the top of your steerer
3. use your eyes

Also, 4 comes after 3 in a list. Typically.

MODS: Feel free to delete this thread as it's just useless clutter at this point. And also, Scrod made me feel like a complete ****ing idiot so make this go away before everyone realizes it. LOL!

Never got the engineering degree. Just went to school long enough to pick up the over-thinking part. Then realized math sucks and went a different route. But thanks for your concern. You can stop being a dick at any time now. Thanks.

Call me vain, but it's just not my style. I typically prefer either a curved fork or a slightly more "beefy" carbon fork. Here's what it currently looks like. It's not awful, I guess. But it's just not my style. Functionally, though, it's just fine. It really is just looks.

Um, yeah, I won't try to dissuade you from buying a more handsome fork. Shouldn't be too difficult either.

Haha! When I first got the bike I thought, "That fork is on backwards, right?" I mean... It's just weird-looking. I really like the looks of the bike otherwise, but that fork has gotta go!

It really does. I mean... I love the bike. As far as steel frames go, I think it looks good and rides nice. But that darn fork is just way out of place... I can't decide on a carbon fork or a steel fork. I'm worried a carbon fork will look out of place on that particular frame, but I can't help but admire them when I see them.

Why don't you get curved-blade lugged track fork | Retrogression . They come in both chrome and black, and are only $72. It's a curved fork that you like with a nice lugged crown. Most carbon forks are straight legged and the Alpina F04 that Scrod likes is not drilled for a front brake caliper.
