Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Track bikes have to adhere to a number of specific rules, not just no brakes. So calling anything but a track bike, a "track bike" is both technically wrong and misleading in general.

If I ride this to the grocery store, it doesn't magically become a Townie.

If i ride this in circles it doesn't make it fixed gear or a track bike.

So a track bike is considered anything that you ride on a track, hence "track". A beach cruiser is a beach cruiser.
You are obviously a 9 yr old boy, who just wants to argue. So I'll let ya call it whatever you want.

Dude why are you trying to argue, my opinion is my opinion, what I call one thing is what I call something, why do you have to argue. Do you even ride a bike if so what do you call it?

Wait a second, what if you put a brake on your track bike on the way home from the velodrome having just rode without a brake!? Is it now just a fixed gear or is it a track bike OR a track bike WITH a brake?

ya'll ready to get existential on this mudda?

I had a girl at a clothing store grab me and say "your tat game is sick". How the hell do I respond to that? "umm, thanks".
