Surly Steamroller sizing for a 50cm Cross-Check owner?

To those of you that own a Surly Cross-check AND a Surly Steamroller:

which size Steamroller size (49cm or 53cm) do you think would be a better fit for 50cm Cross-check owner (w/ 90mm 15deg stem level w/ drop bars).
I plan on using upright handlebars (Soma Sparrows or Oxfords) with the Steamroller.

here's the geometries of each for reference:

    Cross-check: Cross-Check | Bikes | Surly Bikes
Steamroller: Steamroller | Bikes | Surly Bikes

    thanks in advance!

53cm steamroller has the closest effective top tube measurement (~5mm longer) to the 50 xcheck....i'd go with it if you're comfy on the 50cm xcheck.

53cm steamroller for sure. Stack and reach measurements are the most similar. The longer reach would actually work out better in fitting with upright bars.
