vredestein fortezzas
i know some of you guys run them and i couldn't be happier with mine. nashbar has them on sale right now:
http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?c...eid=&pagename= sorry for not posting in the ebay/cl/catchall thread. i thought this would get lost in there. |
so the volantes are good and long-lasting? i put some on about two weeks ago and have been happy so far (after the initial squealing that the back one made while skidding). i love that you can get 'em up to 145psi. and i think they have more tread than the fortezzas.

how are they for puncture protection?
|
I've been riding the Volantes for several months and couldn't be happier. They seem to be tough. I haven't had any flats or punctures yet. (I don't have to deal with much glass on the street though.)

How are these in relation to armadillos?
|
ive got these... real nice... my rear is about worn and i would like to get some of those flashy Rivendell Speedblends but theyre oh so expensive;.probably will order fortezzas again

well you dont have to inflate them to 145, I never go higher than 120psi on my rear 110 on the front. but yeah good tires...thanks for the tip.

Hi,
if you run a Fortezza at a sane pressure, the ride is wonderful. You are less likely to get a flat, most tires last longer, it will be a teeny tiny bit faster, and you won't spend your time on a bumpy street saying bwahahrhahahDOHwoowoowoowo.... |
I have them on three bikes. So far two flats in two years. A big staple and a nail, both stood up by the front and stuck in the rear. They wear pretty good and, as mentioned, if you run them around 110-120 they ride nice. They are quite a bit lighter than the Armidillos.
