The gold one is single speed! The brake from the Raleigh is actually now on the SS. I could say the reason is purely aesthetics right now, haha. I threw that bike together super fast this past week and haven't had time to throw the rear on yet - the picture was from right after I finished tensioning the chain. Currently it's a campus cruiser so I haven't needed to slow down in a rush. When I have time I'm throwing the rear one on!

Thanks! It's an unmarked transporter bike, used in factories so no telling what brand and age it is I'm afraid.
The plate welded between the bars would have a name / number or depot on it.
I've had it for over 15 years now, restored it like this about a year ago.
Here's what it looked like before the rebuild (sort of)

I know it's not singlespeed, but couldn't find a better topic to post it in:
this is my gf's re-built Peugeot (age unknown, guessing it's 90ies)

It's the Contender from State Bike Co, I had a brooks saddle on it shortly but decided to switch it for a fizik. I like the overall basic'ness of it. I run it as a SS for commutes.

The Fizik looks way better on that bike. I'd get a black stem too....Just my opinion, tho...

Yeah but you can ride from Santa Monica to downtown and be there in no time, whereas in a car it'll take ya 2 hours. Where are you, anyway, since your location isn't filled in. It'd be nice to know what you are comparing it to.

Good idea on the black stem, i'm upgrading to omniums soon too, I've been mashing the hell out of these sram 100's and they're already clicking under 100 miles.
