Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Wider tire road going rides

I'd like to see some of your wide tired fixed gears (32s and up). I'm looking to try and build up something with an older road frame and would like to oggle at some inspiration.

Fuji Royale with 35mm Panaracer Paselas

Most mid to lower end road frames can take big tires. Tire size becomes more limited when you get to higher sporty frames. But then it also depends on the style of the bike.

[QUOTE=Wspsux;17484138]... an older road frame...[/QUOTE

An old Atala with 35's. From what I've seen the wider tires can vary in profile from mfr and model. These Kendas measure 35 high and 32 wide. 85 psi max.

Circa '60's Sears with 32's on 650A's.

We just have too many bad roads/gravel roads to run 23's comfortably. I'm not as beat up when I get home.

Not fixed gear but I'm rocking cushy 32c Pasela PTs on my Macho Man Disc:

I'll probably swap them out for some33.333333mm Jack Browns as soon as more arrive in this country.

42-559 Paselas, some dog bowls, and clean dishes!

In the winter, this bike gets 47-559 studded Nokian tires.
