Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

My Next SS!! Call me crazy, but....

2015 Fairdale Taj 26 Bike at Dan's Comp

Seriously, why not? I really wanted the 27.5 MTB that bikesdirect had but after seeing that new tires are limited and pricey, decided to look at this. Basically a size up from cruiser class BMX. I am on the short side anyway. This just may make a nice winter commuter!!

Those are actually pretty cool bikes. The prism decals are a rad nod to the golden days of BMX too.

$600 for a 26" bike? Seems a poor deal to me, but I could be wrong...

What kind of harebrained logic is this?

Does wheel size somehow determine quality? There are plenty of chromoly BMX bikes on the market in that price range.

Aint that a bit pricey? All the components are really inexpensive items. Is there something special about the frame?

Edit: I just looked at the Fairdale site, since I never heard of them. They want $460.00 for a Hi-Ten, 700c coaster brake bike, generic components, no fenders, no racks. Youch.

Yes the bigger the wheel the better it is. Look at prices for a real Penny Farthing. BOOM LOGIC IN YO FACE...JK

I dig bigger BMX style bikes. The Junkyard Dog from All City looks like a ton of fun and this little Fairdale Taj ain't bad either.

Don't know guys. I'm still rolling it around in my head. I've been inching to get a 20" just to trail ride on. Thought about the cruisers as well.
