how to polish/clean a cog?
Hello out there,
I have a Surly cog and it is tarnished and dirty as. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to spiff it up? Is it best to take it completely off my hub or can it be done with it still on? On would be...easier.
thanks,
ryan

by 'cog' do you mean that thing on your back wheel that gets dirty after about 5 minutes of riding? I usually just wipe mine with an old rag when I have the wheel off.

Eagle One Nevr-Dull works decently. You should be able to find it at a *gasp* auto parts store.

Autosol. Just the best metal polish in the world, ever. Brings steel and alu up a treat.
But it's your cog. It gets filthy. You have better things in your life to do than polish your cog. Beer and pies, to start with.
