Pegs
This is proly really stupid but is it safe to put pegs on a track bike? It'd be cool to be able to cart a friend around if they needed a ride or something.
Maybe I should just do what the people at trackstar nyc did and put a friend in a messenger bag...

i think putting pegs on a fixie is a great idea
now when thieves want to steal your ride they
also need a deep socket wrench. (not my idea,
but a good one for the ultimate theft proof bike)

I think it's a great idea. Just the other day I wanted some pegs on the DeBer. Rolling up to a party/bar with a cute girl riding on the pegs attached to your trackbike? Suddenly you'd be the king of somewhere. I think I'd be king of Wicker Park with trackbike pegs and cute girls.

That's what the original scorchers had if I remember right. Or was it the foot pegs on the front forks. I think it's a good idea but watch your axels. You can bend them very easily with 9mm axel. One more vote for 14mm fixie axels.

Yeah but find a dropout you can fit it into. I guess you can use a file.

Track axles are 3/8 that is all you need. I would just not use a hollowed out axle I would use a solid one. And make sure you get pegs with 3/8 holes not the 14mm. I reccomend FBM Homie Haulers.

be careful you don't bend your trackends. i wouldn't recomend pegs on a light weight bicycle. i ran pegs on a very high quality bmx freestyle bike from back in the late 80's that had 1/16" thick cromoly dropouts and i would bend the dropouts regularly. no way would i run them on a bike with tapered stays.
