Buford Highway Bike and Bite Tour in Doraville GA on Sept 12, 2015
I just read about this but I am already committed to be my kid's baseball taxi that day, so thought I'd pass it along... Maybe I can live vicariously through someone else if they report back...
Doraville is hosting an event called Buford Highway Bikes and Bites on Saturday, Sept 12th. It's a 4 1/2 mile course, police escorted, ride and food tour. It says the ride is moderately strenuous and recommends a bike with gears to ride, but it sounds like a nice way to sample BuHi's ethnic fare with some expert guidance and ride your bike with a police escort. It's also led by Civil Bikes, which is the woman that does the Atlanta bicycle tours and reviews of her tours are always pretty positive.

I'm secretly hoping lots of people will go so they'll have another one I can go to!

Sounds like fun. When I lived in Atl I always thought Buford Hwy was a bit scary for riding but sure liked all the Asian and Mexican restaurants.

Not sure I understand the draw of a "ride" in the business district. I think cycling is so hot in Atl right now with all the Beltline stuff that everyone is trying to cash in.

Plus, it doesn't hurt to have a little guidance on which restaurants are good in that area.
