Welcome from west central Florida (near the Withlacoochee Trail ). There are a few members in your area. Keep checking here. If you're looking for group rides ask at some of the bike shops near you.

There's a nice ride my group makes around the Deland area called Picket Fences. I'm on the eastern side of Lake County

I have done a fair amount of pedaling in western Volusia, from SR40 at the St. Johns river thru Emporia, down CR3 to (and all around) DeLand,
up CR3 thru Piersen and further north up US17, out CR305 and 304 to Colby's Corner, down SR15 back to DeLand, etc.
Loads of wide open spaces, fern farms, dairy farms, etc. around there.
Great roads,too.
There probably still is the Wednesday evening ride from the Drop Zone at the DeLand airport. Good group for all levels of ability.
Have fun !

Thanks. I ride mostly on paved trails (Spring to Spring and East Central Regional) with some light off road. I can't keep up with the road bikes. I ride a hybrid for fun/fitness. I think I might plan a ride around Lake Monroe.

The north side of Lake Monroe is nice, but most other sides require you to ride on busy roads.
415 has been under construction since forever, and is not pleasant.
Riding thru Sanford is very nice, but be careful if you ride 17-92 along the south shore.
Great shoulder but fast-paced traffic.
Good luck !!!

I've ridden the Spring to Spring trail a couple of times, the Debary end with the boardwalk section is my favorite. Like Ronno6 said, 17-92 can be nerve racking, and the bridge on 415 is downright hairy. Once the construction is finished on 415, it will be a nice ride.

If you get over to east side of county, there's a nice ride called the loop in Ormond beach. Park east side of Granada bridge, ride along John Anderson heading north, and take every left turn you come to (sans parks and neighborhoods)[to end up back at Granada bridge 26 or so miles later]. Nice canopied wetlands ride riverside part.
A nice trail in Bunnell [flagler co] that runs to the coast [pretty much]...Lehigh Trail. Also, A1A is of the more picturesque rides around...but shoulder bike path only exists 'south', so I only ride south myself. Try and catch a nor'easter wind on A1A and you'll set your PR's in some fantastic swift rides.

I was out riding around Lake Monroe yesterday, and it looks like construction on 415 is finished. You can now take a trail from Lake Monroe Park all the way to Celery Ave. That leaves a 9 mile gap (there is a 2 mile stretch of trail) to a complete loop, and if I didn't want to ride on the road, taking the trail as an out and back would be a great option.

There's also a newly opened section of the Spring to Spring trail. It connects to the Lake Beresford section and runs along side Blue Springs State Park. Out and back it's about 5 miles.

I own a condo that I rent out in Daytona on Atlantic Ave. If there is a week or two that it isn't rented, I come down and chill. This year, I'm coming down in early November and bring a bike.

Well, if you can hang around until the 20th check out the Horrible Hundred in Clermont, it's a little bit of a drive, but well worth it.

Horrible Hundred.....did it last year and am hooked. Great sag stops and food after. Wife checked this morning and registration still not opened up since it's not mid August. We have reservations for a room so we can come up and relax before and after the ride. No where near the 11,000+ feet of climbing in Six Gap Hundred but HH is still a challenge.

Welcome! I am up the road in Jacksonville. I just joined a couple of weeks ago. Lots of great information to be found here.
You might want to do an intro thread. Most ignore them but there are a few on here who are very welcoming and will say hi.

And getting even closer to being able to circle Lake Monroe without getting off the trail. I don't mind riding the 17-92 bridge as it is now (the shoulder is wide, but always dirty), but the 1/4 mile between the bridge and I-4 is just atrocious.
