You Tuesday night Garden riders, what type paces and distances does this ride have? It is hard for me to make it in time for the Tuesday night worlds due to work but 6 shouldn't be a problem. I usually just ride alone if I can't make the worlds but wouldn't mind a change of pace. TIA!

bbattle, I "may" be doing the Hot 100...

I rode with the B's, as far as I could! I will be there tonight!

Well I did the BG ride tonight it was a pretty good time, I only say pretty good cause it is so HOT. I was on my Roubaix with the Greatful Dead KOM jersey. I tried to get in with the lead group but they took off as someone, ride leader?, was asking if there were any first timers, as I raised my hand and he started explaining the groups the first group was taking off. Myself and some others tried catching up but we seemed to get caught by every light till there was some sort of regroup at 78? From there I maintained a good pace and rode in some pacelines with different groups on the way in. I also decided I won't ride down Lakeshore again. There were about 5 of us that took that route in and we got buzzed more times than I care for! Overall it was a GREAT ride, 27 miles at a good pace and it's easy to make a 6 o'clock start. Look forward to more of these and wish I had came out before.

I am new to cycling and live in the bham area (Helena). Where are good places to ride, I pull a baby trailer so I can't ride in traffic. Are there any paved bike trails or bike paths that aren't in traffic?

JG, what are you doing back here close to my (soon to be old) house? No more suburbs for you? How long have you been back?

Ah...the continuing saga of JerryG. I'll fill you in if your ear can handle it. Fire and rain.

Good to see you at BamaCross #1. Are you going to Muny Sokol? I should be there to race/ride on the
S-CC.

Not sure yet. May be moving around that time. Come ride with D-Dog tomorrow @ 8 from BBC. He's not yet up to speed and promises to ridicule the faster riders.

Hello all,
I just found the forum and this thread. I did look through all 6 pages and didn't see anyone mention South Alabama. Is there anyone towards Baldwin County?

Welcome to BF, MPR. Haven't seen any Baldwin Co's on here either. Any possibility you've run into my old pal Rick Hudson on the road down there? Not sure if he's had much time to ride as he's been involved in his children's swimming.

Bob, to be honest with you I have not ran into anyone. I've probably seen only a handful of riders down here in years. The funny thing is there is some great riding with huge bike lanes.

Also, I was even thinking that the state park would be a great place for a crit race.

Hold that thought. The AL racing group has broken away from GA (formerly ALGABRA) to form the ACA ( AL Cycling Assoc) and we need to start holding more events. No web site yet, but I do know that one of the head honchos is located in the Mobile area. My man here would know his contact info if you'd like to feed him the idea.

I definitely would like to get in touch with him. What's his name and what club/shop does he ride out of? Also, how can i get in touch with him?

Here are a couple of new links for the Bama peeps. Alabama Cycling Association, which is the new race group for Alabama, http://www.alcycling.org/index.html . Also Alabama Cycling News, which is a overall cycling focused site with a bit of everything, http://www.alabamacyclingnews.com/ . Hope to see you all on the roads this year.

MPR, we are going to be doing a "training camp" down in Baldwin later this month. Think we are staying out on Ft Morgan road somewhere?
