found one

I searched and found the Coastal bicycle Touring Club and they have a Saturday ride. IF anyone know a faster or longer ride I'd be interested.
Thanks

I think there is a group that meets at the Park and Ride in Port Wentworth on Ga 21 at I-95 exit 109.

Don't get me wrong, I feel perfectly safe for the most part. I am careful about where I go and I don't go anywhere at 3 in the morning. You just have to pay attention............and carry a 9mm.

Well, there were no shootings on the ride this morning, but there was a lot of carnage. Saturdays especially in February are usually pretty mellow, but we started at 10AM, in stead of 8AM (too cold) and either the usuall recreational riders didn't get the email, or didnt want to start at 10. So we had a fair amount of Horses show up at the gate. 42 miles, max speed was 34mph or so. And I'm pretty sure I was in the 12 for a while... hahhahhahaaa, Im still coughing. maccpres is strong! and was in the mix all day long and I think he got a good workout. Tommorow, 65 miles. Yee Haw!

mac

I'm from Atlanta. I had a great weekend in Savannah thanks to Smoothie. Bike Forums is really great when you can go somewhere and make a connection and get to ride with a great bunch of guys. I send Smoothie an email and he gave me a call and told me about the ride. It was faster than his description and I'm lucky I've been maintaining decent condition this winter. One of the guys bought everyone coffee and muffins after the ride. They said the Sunday ride was faster but I figured no way. Wrong again. Sunday and there was a guy who won 2 GA cup races and a few other very strong riders and a 20 to 25 mph wind. The ride was great. The strong guys blew it to pieces and a few smaller groups formed and we eventually regrouped at the store and rode in together. Smoothie's an excellent rider and a great guy. Get in touch with him if you're in Savannah and want a painfully hard ride. If you're in Atlanta let me know.

Glad you had a great time. I'm trying to get myself in shape before my first Smoothie ride. The closest I've come is almost running him over on Habersham .
