I'm from Greenville now living in Austin TX. I'll be coming back for Christmas holidays and I'm bringing my bike. While Austin has a kick ass cycling community, I miss the riding in SC and NC.

I live in Greenville, SC during the week, but prefer to spend time in our small home in the mountains, Waynesville, NC. I lived in Greenville to get a paycheck, but now that I am retired, I can and do spend more time in the mountains. Right now, I am spending my bicycle time wrenching, fixing up my old college bike along with my wife's, and rebuilding a couple of other bikes as well. I haven't ridden since college, but now is a good time to get back into shape......

+1 for Asheville and Boone, NC

Just moved to Asheville, NC, but I still spend about 1-2 weeks a month at my place in Boone when I'm there for work. So far I like the weather in Asheville, but the mtb riding was better in Boone.

Used to live in Hickory (Viewmont) and Charlotte (Phillips Place) and I really miss both areas for nicer weather year-round.

Hey speedlever, do you ride with any group in HP? I lived there before moving to winston and
use to ride with a good group of people. Most of them were speed skaters from HP. They would
meet at the radar base in Kernersville.

Not in particular. My schedule is pretty hit and miss, so I ride mostly solo. Rode once with the guys that meet at the YMCA on Sunday afternoons. They're a bit fast for me at this point. I've also run into another group that meets at the Farmer's Market on Sundays.

I ride by that radar base from time to time. I think you are referring to the one off Union Cross Rd at Wallburg Rd?

Yes thats the place. I have rode with the group from the Y a couple of years ago, didn't care for them to much. The Radar Base group may be the one starting from the farmers market now. You are more than
welcome to ride with the group I ride with sometime. Shoot me a email address and I'll let you know
if your interested.
