My fav. Ride every morning from the Northshore pool. Stick the weekdays if you want to avoid the weekend warriors. The weekdays have a core group of maybe 20. Everyone looks out for each other.

I do the Gulf Beaches from Treasure Island, cross the Pinellas Bayway to Fort DeSoto Park and back. Be very careful on Bayway bridge!

Even though I dont live in Florida anymore . (A Texas resident but I miss FL every day) When I went to school at USF we would ride through some desolate roads to Lutz and back. I remember a road called 7 mile hill. We practiced crits around the campus((Alumni, Laurel,Holly and Maple). every once in a while we would go down to Ybor City and do sprints between the lights--but that was all 25 years ago.

Gnats. That's the reason I don't ride there. I felt like I was getting sandblasted and had to wash them off myself when I got home. The Citrus Park part isn't bad. It's the Town N Country part that has bugs.

I usually ride downtown burg friday nights because of the traffic. Not much fun for roading, though.
