Headed south on the Pinellas Trail from the inlaws' @ Taylor Lake. Brutal, BRUTAL headwind! Got about 10-1/2 miles in, heading for a long beach loop, when my right knee said, "No, no more of THIS crap!" So I turned around and headed back. Five miles of easy spinning and the knee felt better, so I pushed the pace back. Knee's starting to throb again. Might need to ice it. Meh.

Did another 27 miles yesterday, up the trail to Dunedin to my brother in law's with my daughters, picked up my neices, then another 4 miles to Ozona to my sister in law's. The kids headed for the pool, and headed back to Largo into the headwind. Didn't do too badly, and my knee didn't complain like it did on Saturday.

SloSpokeJim: grilled salmon? That beats the ribs and pulled pork we had.

zzOtherlandzz: Lovebugs, blech! By the time we got home yesterday afternoon, the car and all three bikes were COVERED with the vile little critters.

Rode to town to the bike shop (just for something to do). Luv bugs weren't too bad on the ride to town... not nearly as bad as they were the other day. BS'ed at the shop for a bit and headed out.. about 2 miles down the road decided to call for a ride.... TOOOO much lightning. Mom was in town with sister so they came and snatched me up. About a 14 mile ride....

mrz80 .... The worst thing about the love bugs is having to clean them off every time you come home.. Either that or they get baked on forever.... grrrrrr..

Yep.... Decided to ride to the post office since it is national ride to work day. Haven't rode since Tuesday (cold/flu). Was feeling pretty good after I dropped of packages at the post office so decided to take a detour over to Carl Duval State Forest. Was going to do a loop and ride home. But got about 100 yards down the trail and took a picture. Decided I would try riding the loop the other way.. I got about a 1/2 mile down the trail the other way and ran into more trees down. Last night we had quite a storm with high winds and hail. Some of the biggest hail I have seen in a really long time. And the biggest I've ever seen in Florida. A friend took the picture of the hail last night.

Short but nice ride about 8 miles...

Yep..... 22.22 miles.... The Sunday bike shop ride. About 6 of the miles were in the woods on the mountain bike. (the rest was on the mountain bike too, but on the paved trail. The biting flies were out BIG TIME in the woods.... NOT FUN!! Might be the last ride in the woods until the flies go bye bye.... Got the camera mounted on the bike again... Took a few pictures... I'll upload a couple later... Nice ride... great weather.....

Good luck with the healing. I'm guessing you don't have a trainer to mount your bike on. Much nicer than most exercise bikes.

Rode my "new" route today. Plenty of rollers and climbs without the killer hills at Stone Mtn. Did 31.5 miles today.
I rode the Felt today and ran into a friend at Stone Mtn (John Marsh). He is the owner of www.roadbikerider.com. He is the person who "persuaded" me to try a Felt bike. He has a Felt F1.

Yep... rode Tuesday... The plan was to meet at restaurant, ride then eat. I wasn't feeling good all day so I was just going to go and ride. GLAD I went.... I felt really good once I got on the bike. After it started raining everybody wanted to cut the ride short, so they headed back to the restaurant. I wasn't going to eat so I decided to keep riding, not like I could get any wet-er. The 6pm ride didn't actually start until after 6:30.... So I didn't have a lot of time before It got dark.... Managed to get in 18.86 miles.. GREAT ride...

2 days in a row. Short rides (~14 miles) to get into the season. Also wearing in some new bike shorts. Trying out anti-monkey-butt powder / chamois cream. I think I prefer the cream... Perfect weather here in Charleston SC for a nice morning ride before that sun kicks in!

yes, finally 4 weeks today since my hip replacement surgery. I've been riding the mb on the trainer but today took it off and headed over to the Baseline Trailhead just east of Ocala. Was hoping to get out before it got too hot, but that didn't happen. Only did 6.3 miles but I guess that's a start. Now hoping all of these surgeries are behind me. I've gotten 2 new knees and a new hip in the last 2 years and I am so over not being able to ride. Thinking that this weekend I'll take the hybrid and we'll head to either the Withlachochee or the Gainesville/Hawthorne trail. I don't think I'm ready yet for any mbing in the dirt yet.

GREAT! to hear your back out of the house and off the trainer at least a little bit..... trainer = boring LOL I actually rode the G.Ville trail from Hawthorne to Sams Club in G.ville today. The trail was in great shape and they were just mowing and blowing it off today. I hadn't rode the trail for a few months now... Ended up riding 24.(somthing) miles. Sister had to be in G.ville for an appointment so I actually rode in the morning which is odd for me. GREAT ride!! Lots of people out enjoying the trail..

Summer is finally here. It hasn't been really hot (only low 80s) until today. Forecast said 88-93 for the next week.
Saw several police cars. I guess they're getting ready for the long weekend.
I did my latest route into Avondale with 3 laps around the lake for a total of 31 miles.
No riding tomorrow. The wife says I'm pressure washing the house tomorrow and Sunday.

I'm old (67) and slow and she is very particular about missing a spot.
I'll be up on the ladder on the north end. The is only one story but because of the terrain, the north end is as tall as a two story house.

The bad thing is.... You have reminded me that I need to do my house and my moms place.... Doh!!

Yep I rode today... Another morning ride.... Decided to go find some hills and ride them.... NOT a lot of hills in FL .. But there is a nice 6 mile section of some nice rolling hills.. Went and rode that and a paved loop around an almost dried up lake. It has some nice hills and hardly any traffic. Ended up riding 21.60 miles... Was pretty hot when I got back to the van a bit after noon... 93deg. Nice ride..... LOTS of people out on the trail part of the ride.

43 miles today which put me just over 500 for the month. I hope to ride again tomorrow morning as we are supposed to get some rain late Sunday and Monday and Tuesday. ZZ looks like you are going to get quite a bit of rain as well.

I hope we do get some rain..... I'm supposed to go on the shop ride at 3pm tomorrow.... Right in the thick of the projected rain I think. I should have taken some pictures of the BIG almost dried up lake that I rode around today... I rode up to Gold Head State Park.... There was almost nobody there because the lake in the park has dried up so much there is no more swimming, so nobody goes there now... Its sad
