Jim, would you mind taking a picture of the saddle from the rear so I can see how flat or curved it is? If it looks good I may have to bite the bullet. I see that they have a 30 day return policy.

Ron,

I also ride the Selle Anatomica - love it. Have been riding it on my road bike for almost two years. Tried something different a month or so ago and went back to the SA. Highly recommend you give it a try.

Also, what dates in March are you free for the 2nd Annual BF Withlacoochee Ride?

I have ridden about 15,000 miles on my Selle and I don't even think about it being there.
Maggi and I may have ridden some of the tandem weekends with them, but I honestly don't know. We haven't been active at all since we made the wonderful decision to buy acreage almost 2 years ago, and when we do get to go, there are so many tandem teams you can't get around to meeting everyone.

But tandem teams are where I keep hearing about the Selle Anatomica. And yes, Ron, it looks exactly like the work of a boy who owned an imitation Brooks and an Exacto knife! But keep in mind that on a tandem, you only get to be out of the saddle maybe 1/3rd of the time that you do on a single, so your saddle damn well better be comfortable! I rate recommendations on comfortable saddles from tandem teams much higher than a single road rider.

Ron, here is a video of how the saddle is made. I will try to get a picture of mine tomorrow.

Thanks Jim and Sue. The SA looks good.

Sue, we can do the ride March 1, 2, 8, 9, 16, 29 or 30.
Can't do March 15. I'll be at the dragon boat races in Hernando. I hope I'm still on the team. Because of the cold temps I haven't been at any practices for almost 2 months.
The Withlacoochee Clean Air Ride is March 22. I can't ride 50+ miles that day and then ride the next day.

Best ride of the year today. Met Rich, Jim T, and Bob at the trailhead for about an 8:15 departure. We did the usual ride on the trail to and thru Mandarin then back on the trail to Panera Bread. After coffee and a muffin we headed out to De Berry. Our overall average today was 14.8 mph but our 31 mile segment from Panera to the mansion and back to St Road 434 was 15.9 mph. The weather was fantastic, mid 50s at the start and high 70s when we got back. The wind was not a factor in todays ride which I am sure had a good effect on our mph. Heart rate was a little high but lower than I expected

Ron March 16 is out for me due to The Tour de Cure ride and I plan on riding the Clean air ride on March 22. The 29th or 30th would be best for me.

I was in Lake City yesterday visiting my son so no ride. Today I was pressed for time (by my wife) so did a quick 24+ miles riding from the Hernando trailhead to Floral City and back.

After all the wonderful comments by Sue, Jim and Bill and a few online reviews I found, I ordered a Selle Anatomica Titanico X in watershed black with gun metal rivets for the Litespeed. I hope its as wonderful as everyone is claiming. Got an email with the shipping details a few minutes ago. If I like it I'll get one for the Felt.
If I don't like it you're all in trouble.

Ron,
If you don't like it, I'll buy it from you for my touring bike!

How does March 30 look for you for the Withlacoochee Ride? If that works, I'll post a pix/msg about it, if you like. FYI, I believe Natalie's birthday ride is April 5 so I'd use our ride as a warm-up for that.

My wife and I have never been to Key West and we were just looking at B&B and hotel rates for the month of April. We can't afford $280 to $650 a night. Got a spare room we can use?

Despite the mostly cloudy skies I headed out for a nice ride this morning. Took the Litespeed and rode from Hernando to the north end. Then headed south to Inverness. Then back to Hernando for a total of 33+ miles. Spoke briefly at the north end with a guy riding a 2001 Litespeed Palmares. Then while stopping for water in Inverness and guy rode by on a 2001 Litespeed "something". Wow. Three Litespeeds on the trail at the same time.

When I got home I had a package in the mailbox -- my Selle Anatomica saddle. I just ordered it Thursday morning. Thats fast service.

Great ride this morning with John (Roscoe), Bob, and Rich, on his fixed gear. We added a new rider this morning, Judy K, and we hope to see her riding again with us soon. We did the usual SWT to Mandarin and then Panera. After PB it was International to Wayside then out to the horse farms. After a short break we headed across Sylvan Lake to the trail head then down Markham Woods to home. For the 29 mile segment from Panera Bread to State Road 434 our average was 15.9 mph, all of this mileage was on open roads. Our over all average including the trail was 14 mph. Very cloudy this morning but no rain and the wind was not a factor.

Ron you are going to like that saddle.

Good ride today with Ralph and Bob. Did not stop at Panera Bread today so the worlds problems will have to wait until Thursday. Overall average was 13.5 mph with the 21 mile segment from Panera to Panera 15.0 mph. Weather was fantastic mid 60s at the start and mid 70s at the finish with partly cloudy skies and light wind.

Took the Litespeed out today for the first ride with the Selle Anatomica saddle. Very comfortable so all of you who recommended it are off the hook.
I had to send a question to the SA folks. The instruction manual says after 100-200 miles the saddle may take on a concave shape. The saddle got very uncomfortable to day after less than 20 miles. I stopped and looked at the saddle. It looked like a very loose hammock. So I tightened the bolt and finished the ride in comfort. Just curious to read SA's reply to my message.
Did a total of 33+ miles.

Slo Spoke Jim,

Do you happen to know a couple of riders - Dennis and Shannon? They are building a home off Markham Woods Rd and ride in that area. My niece and her husband.

Sue, the name does not register but we ride in that area 4-5 times a week. If they would be interested in joining our group let's connect. We are always looking for new riding friends, you can go to the link below and find out about our group.

Nice easy 35 mile ride this morning to loosen up our legs for tomorrows ride to the coast. Met Jim T and Bob at the trail head with 44 degree temps, (I think my fingers were frost bitten) then picked up Ralph @ EE Williamson. Panera Bread sure felt good this morning with the heat on and I think we stayed a little longer than normal. Our over all average today was 13.3 mph with the 18 mile ride from PB back to PB 14.4. The temps had reached 65 by the time we got home.

Fantastic ride with a big group this morning. Twelve Posse members and twelve Rotten riders rolled out of Green Springs Park at 9 am for a 60 mile ride to the coast and back. The pack broke into 2 groups right after leaving Osteen with the front group riding at about 18/19 mph and the second group averaging about 16.7 mph. The ride back was into a head wind so the second group averaged about 15.4 mph. and we stopped at the half way point for a potty break out in the woods. The front group rode straight thru at a blazing speed. The Posse was represented by Rich, Carl Ralph, Jim T and Becky, Tom and Renae, Jobo, John and Donna, Bill and the sheriff. The weather was perfect, cool at the start and comfy at the finish.

Another comfortable ride on the Selle Anatomica.
Rode from Hernando to the north end of the trail and south to Inverness, then back to Hernando for a total of 33 miles. Lots of riders out today.

Another Perfect Florida winter day. Had a great ride out of Micanopy this morning for a little over 20 miles. Drove back home, had lunch, watched some golf on TV, and then decided I'd not had enough of a ride, so rode another 23 miles on my usual home route. Would have gone a little further, but it was starting to get dark.

Another great ride. Gotta love the new saddle.
The wind was kind of harsh today so only rode from Hernando to the north end of the trail and back -- a paltry 22 miles.
