We road a pleasant 24 miles this morning. Weather gettin' pretty cool in the early hours.
We had to take a funny route today as 2 of our courses are currently blocked by road construction or bridge repair. Bummer, but I look forward to the new surfaces.

Took the Cannondale out today and managed 19.6 miles. The weather has been awesome since Matthew blew thru.

I've noticed something lately. I noticed it last fall/winter/spring to but didn't want to bring it up until today. Many of these yankees coming down for the winter or moving here are not friendly at all. I always smile and wave to every cyclist and pedestrian but many of these new folks don't smile, wave or even nod. Is it a yankee thing?

Rode north to Inverness and back to Croom. We probably should change the route up a little, but we like that stretch of the trail. ☺

We rode 29.8 miles today a little quicker than usual. Seems like speeds have been coming up a bit lately, but still shy of what I used to ride an Flat Florida.
I have more climbing just to get out of my neighborhood than I used to see n a 30 mile ride in Fla.

RonH, I don't know if it is the Northern mentality to be anti-social when riding, or just people in their own little universes. I,too say something to every other rider, pedestrian, or even anyone out in their yards doing yardwork. I usually even acknowledge every car from either direction if the road is small enough.
The ones who really get me are those who are wearing earbuds while walking down the center of the path, then get upset when you scare them by passing them (even tho you call out "on your left" when approaching.)

Been getting in a good deal of riding the last couple of weeks. Weather is great, and trying to make at least a part of my yearly goal.
Found a really nice restaurant with a good bourbon bar on the ride this past weekend. Bonus.

Rode from Hernando to the north end and back. The mileage is coming back so now I have to tackle the speed — and drop the 5-8 pounds I put on while sitting around the house after my surgery. So far the pounds won't budge.

22.25miles this morning at a good pace.
Sambo had other commitments, so we cut it shorter than usual.

I have been SO off the bike this year. Unbelievable how many to-do list items, home repairs, car repairs, trips both work and personal, and so forth conspired to keep the mileage down. Best I've managed recently is dragging out the mountain bike for commutemobile duty (the car being unable to shift out of first gear and a blown heater hose) Monday and Tuesday - about 6mi each way. Might have to make it a semi-regular event again, but lordy it's no fun putting big knobbies on pavement!

Glad you're back on the bike but sorry to hear the story about not riding.
Bike commuting is great fun. Swap the tires and make it a regular habit.

Looking at my schedule and evening obligations, I can certainly make the commute by bike 2 days a week, maybe 3. Wednesdays and Thursdays are out 'cause of stuff I have to do after work. I've got a couple possible choices for road tires I'm looking at, and I've got a query for recommendations in on a commuting thread elsewhere on the forum. Oh, and I ordered more shorts yesterday; I found that I've just about worn through the bottom of my 25+yo Descentes . Hope the Pearl Izumis last that long!

Took the Litespeed out today. Did my usual ride from Hernando to the north end of the Withlacoochee Trail and back.
The weather is really getting nice.

Glad you're back zipping around. Saturday morning's weather should be OUTSTANDING for a 100 mile ride.

Today is 10 days since my new right shoulder joint was installed. Wind started to pick up and that made things a bit challenging when sitting straight up like a Cadet at West Point during chow. Held on to the wheels of the paceline for 5 miles but after my turn at the front doing 24mph I just let them go. 34 pound hybrid, upright bars, new shoulder, seat 1" lower than normal so I'm closer to the ground all adds up to a ton of effort to keep the tank rolling.

Saturday morning could be in the 60'sF so I'm thinking about a 3AM start time to get 100 miles in.

28.1 miles today at a reasonable pace (for us.)
A cold front had moved through overnight and this morning we were left with a brisk NE wind that made us really work on the outbound leg.
Tomorrow should see less wind, but temps down near 40°
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

The temps were cool today. It was 60F when i got to the trailhead. Rode the Cannondale to the north end of the trail and back. Seems many of the snowbirds are back.

Had a wreck on the way to my trail so had to ride from home on the highway. Not my favorite. Between waiting for a tow and other issues, not much time so only got 15.6 miles done.

31 miles today at a more relaxed pace. One of today's group is recovering from a heart attach he suffered while riding with us in May. The cold weather this morning worked on him a bit, so we took things easy.

Sorry to hear about this. I'm guessing you're ok since you got to ride.

Thanks yes but no way to get to the Baldwin trail. Truck cut me off and my front bumper hit the rear bumper of his trailer. He never stopped. My front bumper was trashed and rubbing a tire.

I will have to make up the miles next weekend I guess. Have the Florida-Georgia game Saturday but plan to ride early that day if I can get to the trail.

25.1 relaxed miles on Monday. Ivan, who is recovering from a heart attack, rode with us on this cool morning, so we took things at his pace. Still, at 14.7 average, my hat is off to him!

It was 58F when I got to the trailhead with the Litespeed. My base layer undershirt, light weight vest and arm warmers sure felt good. Rode from Hernando to the north end of the trail and back.

It has been in the mid 40's here when we start.
T-shirt under my usual jersey and arm warmers are the only concessions to the cold so far.
I figure when we see 30's or below the tights and ear warmers will be donned, and maybe the
full-finger gloves.

Anyway, 22 miles this morning at Ivan's pace. I like these rides because I still have some gumption to do some of the chores that have found their way to me.

Just Ivan and me on a repeat of yesterday's 22 mile route. This is the flattest course we ride, about 550ft.
Trying to take things nice and easy on my buddy after hes heart attack back in May.
