32.1 miles today with beautiful weather
Over/under riding days this yr. vs last yr. -1 day
Over/under miles this year vs last year -42 miles
30.0 miles average per ride this yr.
6606 miles needed to hit my 2011 goal of 7,000

Good day today, great weather. Temps were mid 50s* to low 60s* when I got back. Great day but a little on the cold side for me. I hope the weather warms up next week so I can get multiple days of riding in.

Yep..... Got out for another short ride with a friend of mine. About 7 miles on the mountain bike 3 of which were on the trail & dirt road. It was around 3:30 or so ... Was warm in the woods on the trail riding a bit slower, kind of cold when we got back out on the road. Nice ride though....

Nice ride on the mountain bikes. Hubby is finally feeling better. Lake Panasoffkee Wildlife Management area. No hunting this weekend so we took the Jones Creek Trail down over the creek and south a few miles. There were some sandy areas that were not real soft but they were rough riding because there had been some horses on the trail. We found another one (Half Moon) that we might try next weekend, as long as there's no hunting going on. A little chilly at first but we warmed up after about an hour. So nice to be riding again.

Good day today, great weather. Temps were low 60s to low 70s when I got back. Great day but a 10/18 mph head wind was a little rough. The weatherman is calling for rain tomorrow so I guess a rest day is in order. I hope the weather warms up for the rest of the week so I can get multiple days of riding in. I did 586 miles in Jan 2010 so I would like to get close to that number.

Got 2 short rides in today on the mountain bike. Rode with a friend to the tackle shop (that ended up being closed on Monday). Came back home and remembered I still had to go to the post office (that closes from 1 to 2pm) here. Sooo still had my bike stuff on.... Grabbed the packages and headed to the post office. About 12.5 miles total. About half of which was into that headwind that SloSpoke mentioned. Something strange happened on the first ride..... I was in the bike lane on a 4 lane highway and a car slows right down beside me and asks how to get to Walmart..... I told them.... but jeeeeez do you really need to almost stop in the middle of the road to ask me..... DOH!

Oh, hey guys, what's up? So we had a week of snow and ice followed by a week of me being sick. Yay. Sounds like a few of you also got the sick. I'm still suffering from terrible congestion but mostly feel fine. Yesterday I was able to commute to work. A little slow, but was able to breath okay, so I'm happy. It was about 35 F in the morning. Then midday I had a work meeting downtown, so rode the bike on over there, then home afterward. It was sunny and nice for a change and almost warm. Probably 50ish degrees, I didn't look. Raining today, but I should be back at it tomorrow. Woohoo!

A little ride in the rain today. It wasn't miserable, even though I was soaked through by the time I was done. Any colder than it was and it'd have been nasty.

https://connect.garmin.com/activity/65088853

Rode to the shop, in a very light drizzle, to meet up with the group for the am ride. They had decided to turn back and ride indoors. I went around the lake by myself. In the rain, which intensified across the farthest reaches of my short little ride. I turned it into a solo hammerfest and targeted 160 bpm once I got rolling and tried to hold for about 10 miles.

Good day today, great weather. Temps were low 60s to mid 60s when I got back. Great day but a 16/30 mph wind was a little rough. The weatherman is calling for clear sky's tomorrow. I hope the weather warms up for the rest of the week so I can get multiple days of riding in. I did 586 miles in Jan 2010 so I would like to get close to that number. Too much to do before work this afternoon, so no ride for me. Maybe later, like on the trainer. Maybe, I hate the trainer.
I did get in a solid 30 yesterday, and let me tell you it was windy. Early on I was doing 20-25 mph without much effort but, getting blown around by a cross wind. When I had to turn into the wind my speed droped 10 mph but, my heart rate didn't change (150bpm).

It finally got warm enough to ride. Kinda windy but that didn't stop me.
Did 31 miles. Yay. Saw lots of other cyclists. I guess they don't work on Friday or else they took a looong lunch.

Yep.... Another short ride Friday (with the same 3 miles into the nasty wind to the post office). Rode a bit further today to a yard sale that added 2 miles .... with 1 of them into the wind. Bought a Linksys wireless router for 5 bux

On the way back I saw a T-REX going after a Corvette .... DOH!!

Had a great day today, finally got to ride after a week of being sick!! We had a huge group show up (almost 20) and I did 22 miles just to get back into it. Felt good, but the wiring on my light setup broke, I will need to fix that before Monday for the commute.

Yes!!! I'm back in action!!

I was whipped after yesterday's WINDY ride so only did 24 miles (still windy today) on the Specialized.
Saw John Marsh (again) and talked with him for a few minutes. He's a really nice guy. He's the new owner of the Road Bike Rider website and weekly email newsletter. He said the website and weekly newsletter will be getting a complete revamp in the next week or so. I'm looking forward to that.

Yep, Got out for a ride today (that was NOT post office related .. LOL)... I was going to do a half trail half road mountain bike ride but when I got to the one trail it was too over grown with weeds. They were about shoulder high. Didn't feel like getting full of ticks or bugs.... So did about 3.5 miles on another trail and about 15.5 on the road for a total of about 18.5 miles. Great weather & the wind was not quite as bad as the last couple of days. Didn't have the bike mounted camera with me... friend borrowed it.... DOH!!

(edit)The pics aren't quiet as good as I would like them to be because my daughter robbed the battery out of my coolpix for hers, so I used my 2mp camera phone..

We took the mountain bikes out yesterday to the Sunnyhill Restoration area down near Moss Bluff. We rode the levee trail for about an hour. That's about as much as hubby can take pain wise since his surgery. Beautiful day and lots of folks out on horses. We started on the south end this time and road north. Here's some pictures

Hubby built this for the back of his pickup. It works really well. Thought I'd show it off.

This guy was waiting for us on our return. Not a real good picture but he sat there for quite a while so we could take his picture.

We're loading up the bikes today and heading down to another wildlife area near Inverness. Hopefully no hunting going on but if so, we'll just check it out for future rides. I'm finding lots of good mountain bike areas to ride on the Southwest Fl water management site and the St John River water managerment sites.

studded tires have resistance

Rode only 4 miles in the neighborhood through slush. I probably should have worn my shoe covers as well.

When the snow was crusty enough we used to take our MTBs to a friends place in Essex Jct. that lived in a subdivision near a set of VAST trails and go out for a couple of hours, it was fun.
