well, i did tell the group that we wouldn't pull very long or even at all and we we're ready to come off at a turn and they told us to continue straight. we should've come off then, as we'd pulled for about 2min, which, in retrospect was too long, but were just getting ready to go upgrade. oh well, live & learn.

by myself, i most likely could've stayed with this group (they ended up with a 19.2avg), just rotating through, but i don't think i was fully aware of the fact that cnickgo hadn't been riding as much.

this group is starting to ride on T/Th next week. depending on how it fits in to my 'training', i would like to get out and ride with them some.

no.

had some family stuff to do and i really just wasn't motivated to fight the wind this afternoon...on the upside, got a email from my SS guy - he wants to ride tomorrow, so, maybe i'll ride with him or with JayC on the mtb.

I did an easy 41.5 miles in rolling hills in brilliant breezy sunny upper 50s. Tomorrow will be a long climb up the mountain at tempo.

This morning I rode my mtb over to the state park trails, rode for an hour & went back home. it's 3.6 miles from my house to the trail head, and I estimate I did about 3 miles in the woods. Lots of tree roots... I quickly remembered why I decided I would rather go fast and far on a road bike than slow and sore on a mt bike after my first mtb race when I was 16... but, it was fun. Hopefully do it again next weekend when I don't have to worry about leaving for work on time (though it did make me push harder because I was running late) It was about 40 out... chilly on the way in and not too bad on the way out though I did shed my jacket, gloves and headband while in the woods.

Couldn't do a ride until the weekend so I did two then. (Though I was really wanting to get out Friday PM as the weather was really nice.) Saturday was a nice 37 miler and Sunday (today) was a 29 miler. Weather was a nice 50 degrees in the AM.

Hell Yes. I HTFU and went out this morning around 11am for a 40mi ride. I hate the wind. But, I rode into that beotch and didn't let it beat me down this time. It was a beautiful day today for a ride. Damn it was nice.

I rode out towards Flower Hill and rode up that 2x. Then headed on out to ride the FBT in reverse. Got back to the start and I was around 43 miles...decided to ride a bit more to at least get in 45 miles...reached 45 miles and said, what the hell, you're close enough to 50 miles - go for it! Sweet. 51.3 miles, a bit slow for me at 15.5mph, but I had that farkin' wind to deal with the majority of the time.

I'm now relaxing with an Old Scratch Amber Ale.

Yes. 28.5mi with The Hammers. Did pretty well - stayed with them for 24 of the 28.5 miles, blew up on the first short climb and had nothing left for the last bit of climbing....oh well, i'm invited back to ride with them next week!!

i'm also 3mi short of 1100mi (and 70hrs ride time) for the year already.

Me too... yesturday, 12 miles out 12 miles back. I feel like the luckiest guy cyclist in the world because of my location. I live 2 miles from Oak Mt State Park, Birmingham. I have an pass and ride right out of the garage and through the Sate Park entrance. Nice rolling hills and no traffic. The climb back into my neighborhood is a monster 18 climb for about 400 yards, but it makes other hills seem easy. It's been windy as hell for the last several days and yesturday was no exception (crosswinds).

Yes. I did a spring celebration ride. Ironically, it was a bit nippy out.

It was nice here in Bakersfield today. I rode 50.1 miles with 5X15 minute tempo hill climbs in the middle.

If you get your hands on the reigns of the peloton during the spring ride, I'm afraid I'm going to be dropped like a lead weight.

only managed two lunch break rides this week due to weather and work load. While we were out yesterday my coworker managed to net 3 thorns in his front tire and 5 in the rear. I escaped unscathed. No riding tomorrow...working from 8am until 9pm. Hope to get out on the trails for a couple of hours again Sunday though. Expecting new tires for my road bike to arrive in a week or two...

Yes, I rode again today. Started with the Hammer group, but a 20+mph pace INTO the wind is a bit much for me for 60+mi and after doing a 20min TT for threshold power test yesterday. 3 of us turned around at around 13.5mi and called it a day.

26.4mi. I'll prolly get a ride in tomorrow...something easy. 141 miles this week.

32 miles with my buddy on his mtn bike. Went out from our neighborhood ~5 miles to the Crabtree Greenway at Trenton Rd. Rode that and back. Excellent day, his goal was to ride 25 (at once duh) miles this summer. We smashed it today. Easy ride for me but the mileage is always good.

Yes. I battled the winds for a couple hours trying to keep pace with the animals here.

Along the way I encountered a short but steep climb up a ridge. My, winter riding has done me no favors on double-digit grades.

Again, the answer is yes. 24 mile recovery ride this evening. I am Officially Tired now. This is the most mileage I've ridden in one week in a long time....164miles/10.25hr ride time.

I can already tell you what the answer will be for tomorrow: NO. I need some rest.

did 1 hr, 20min on single track. I'd like to have gone longer but that's a long time in the woods w/ a rigid frame. Three other vehicles in the parking lot, caught a glimpse of one other rider while I was riding, and another walking with his young son on the way out.

kudos wolfpack, that's some impressive riding.
