Anyone familiar with this area? I'm spending a week with my dad down there and I would like to get a little riding in. I also have 2 daughters -8 and 12- willing to ride also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks <><

Well, I'm a bit familiar with the area. I used to live down that way, but it was many years ago.
It's very quiet out there, the roads are flat, straight and long. It's very suitable for riding. Enjoy the heat!

My wife and I were there last month visiting friends who retired there. We are thinking about it also.
I saw a few "cyclists" riding to the store, etc. No helmets.
The highways and roads there are too good for riding. Too many old people.
You could haul your bike to the Withlacoochee State Bike Trail (paved). The closest trail head is in Inverness. There's a great bike shop at the trail head if you need service or bike stuff.
There is a city park next to the bike shop with public parking.
Here are a few links about the trail. Did I mention it's 46 miles long?

Good luck and have fun.
