places to ride in palm bay/melbourne, fla

hi all
i will be in melbourne area this weekend thru wed and was wondering where are some good site seeing place to ride to? are there bike paths around?, any must see areas?. also looking for a used road bike or bike shop that sell used.

Cross over the causeway and ride down A1A and ride down to Sebastian Inlet and back.

+1 on that section of A1A; very nice. Also check out thr 'Rides' and 'Maps' sections of this link:

There are several good rides there. Definitely hit the River Road ride. They have a couple group rides on River Road; Saturday morning ride is very popular. If you go without the group, it's not like you need a cue sheet; it's just one long, quiet ride along the river.

If you want to drive a little, there are some great rail trails in Orlando and beyond:

The West Orange trail is awesome, and only an hour away from Melbourne. have fun.

thanks for the replies. i am recovering from foot surgery and my cast will be off on Friday then to the airport. i will check out some lbs for a used bike to use during my stay, Matt's looks interesting, if nothing else i need to buy the scfw jersey!
