What have you found while riding?

Ok im bored because it has been raining for the past 3 days, almost with no let up. Thought it might be interesting and something to do to see what everybody has found while riding.

4 hooks that go on the end of chains, I don't have any idea why but I have found them all on A1A a bit north of Marineland at different times
.
77 cents one day ... lol
.
Craftsman pliers, wrench, 3/8 drive extension & screw driver .... all on different days..
.
a few broken cell phone... saved the batteries on a couple of them..
.
almost new bell under seat bag .. found it on a trail in the middle of nowhere. It had a set of allen wrenches in it
.
I used to pick up bungee cords but stopped that LONG ago... They are EVERY place here in FL... its a wonder any loads are left on anything..

I'm sure i'm forgetting a LOT of stuff.... If I remember i'll add more later .. lol... because its still raining!!

While down in Destin, FL: an entire pick-up truck bed lining in the bike lane on Hwy 98. Can't imagine how this flew out without the owner noticing.

About 5 years ago I was driving down I4 behind a guy on a motorcycle... It was during Bike Week... When a bedliner caught wind, and flew up and out of the truck, right towards the guy on the bike... He swerved, and went under a semi-truck in the next lane... All that unfolded right smack in front of me, I remember it clearly...

The guy in the truck ahead, who lost the bedliner, kept trucking right along... Dunno if he missed what happened, or wanted to get the hell outta dodge!

I haven't really found anything worth mentioning, but I am with rokudan on this rain thing. I am almost at the point that I will go ride in it just to get out of the house.

Serious rain here in Juno !
Going through the college bar area of PA, thursday nite is like the college kids friday nite
to us....So, friday morning it became habit to ride along the street very slowly because
all sort of stuff would drop out of their pockets while they were going for their keys,
I suppose. Money, a watch, all sorts of stuff could be found friday mornings.
In Vermont, Im rolling down Rt. 4 on my fixie and obviously its very dark even with my lite.
I roll over the top of a little rise and right in front of me was a H-U-G-E pumpkin head
looking straight at me It was a bag with a pumpkin face that people fill with leaves
(lots of them in VT) and use for a decoration on thier lawn on Halloween. I just missed
it but will always remember the shock of having it just appear out of nowhere

Im with ya on the bungees.....Everywhere ! sometimes I think they are Black snakes
from a distance. I even worry about getting hit with one as it snaps off of a tarp

This:

Luckily it was only a couple blocks from my house. I was on my way home from an errand run on my Raleigh DL-1. So I walked the Raleigh the rest of the way and carried the Fuji.

Had to go to ugg Walmart.... and by the time I got in and out of the store I was pretty wet... I had my bike with me... I was really close to going for a ride.... <sigh> ... but I didn't ... I hate cleaning up after a ride in the rain... shoes, bike, gloves and all the rest...

Recently, I've found that I can't kick butt like I used to. I hope that I soon find that I am getting back into the shape I was in 7 years ago.

Lets see, I have found a brand new hydration pack on the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail four years ago. I still have it. I found a 50' extension cord with a duplex box on the end, I have found vice grip pliers, a 7/8" crowfoot socket for a 3/8" drive, a putty knife, a lunch box size cooler, a brand new "real tree" camo jacket, several life jackets, a $10.00 bill, and more stuff that I can't recall right now. The roads around Okeechobee are littered with good stuff and I'm one of the few cyclists here it seems.

Rain be damned, I went out and rode in the rain and wind today. I hate leaving in it, but I did not care as I was sick of riding a stationary at the YMCA. I have more miles on it this week than on the road. 15.85 miles in a friggin downpour and 25 mph winds and it was fantastic. My rain total at my house for the week is now over 20". Yippy

I found a wino in a ditch once, he smelled.
I found a wallet with $230, drivers license and credit cards. I call the guy and he told me his wife was upset with him, so she threw his wallet out the window of the car when she left in a huff. He gave me a $20 reward.

I'm sick of the rain too, may have to risk getting wet this afternoon.
I found a cell phone that was ringing. Figured somebody was looking for it, called Mom on the phone and she was so worried, her 18 year old kid had just moved here and she hadn't heard from him in a couple of days after calling and calling.

thing found

I have found stuff sack, pretty nice fleece lined. It blew out of a boat being towed.
I picked up and try to catch them but they kept on trucking. Waved at them with it but they did not stop. I did not want to throw it down (littering) So I brought it home.

Today, found a long 7/16" wrench.... Well found it a block away from my house coming home from my ride.... does that count?? lol
.
Just remembered though a few years ago I sort of found something. I am a bit color blind when it comes to some shades of green and brown (this will apply to what i found). So on the way back to where I parked on one of my rides I seen a bag of what I though was .... weed. I don't smoke the stuff never have.... I have no interest in it.... But I have a couple of "pot head" friends. So I got back to my car and called them and said "I think there is a bag of weed in the construction area by the post office, I think somebody may have thrown it out when they were getting pulled over or something". The post office is about 6 miles from there house.. They haul butt and head there.. I hear from them about 1/2hr later .. They tell me it was the tobacco out of a cigar, that most likely somebody opened the cigar and ditched the tobacco and then filled it with weed... I just laughed.... cus it was funny they drove all that way on a wild weed chase...
