Buying a Cervelo in No VA
Can anyone recommend a particular Cervelo dealer in DC or Northern VA (MD is not out, but it's not my first choice.) I'm probably going to have to order a bike, so having something in-stock is not necessarily a consideration. I'm looking for a fair dealer with decent prices, and a shop that has a good repair/service record.
Thanks! |

I didn't know Contes has a shop in NOVA...where is it? I figured they were Richmond only.

They're on Wilson Boulevard near the Ballston Mall and Metro stop.

It's the best bike shop I've ever been in. The service and support is exceptional.

The deed is done. I bought the special Carlos Sastre edition of the R3 SL, complete with signed yellow jersey :)
http://cdn.media.cyclingnews.com/200...9t16x8_600.jpg I'm getting DuraAce 7900 (compact), and keeping my existing Ksyrium wheels. They're building it up for me, and I'm picking it up after work on Tuesday! Looks like a great shop. I can't believe I haven't been in there before. |
I like to go to their Arlington shop and drool on everything. They have to follow me around with a shop towel to clean the mess.

Well done JimF22003, the bike looks great. You'll have to give us a ride report when its built up and on the road.

I just got back into town last night. I've only had a chance to ride the bike twice! I picked up a horrendous sore throat and chest cold that I'm just now recovering from, so I'm going to stay off of it for one more day.
I'll be riding it in the Reston Century on Sunday, probably the first long ride I'll be able to do, unless I get a chance on Saturday. If anybody recognizes the bike, be sure to say hi :) |

hi estabro. I did the century including the north and south loops. Got a pretty good time (for me).
|
^ Weather was excellent. I also did the full 100. Thought is was a bit odd that we were routed to the Hamilton stop 3 times. Either way it was a good day in the saddle.

Last time I rode it was in 2007... It does make sense to reduce the number of volunteers, etc. I liked the choice to do less than 100, but of course felt compelled to do the full English Century.

I truly hate the loops back to Hamilton. It doesn't feel like a true century for me unless it's a true complete loop. Even the "figure 8" course that the Potomac Pedalers Century in Berryville uses, is a bit weak. The only thing I hate worse than the loopy options on the Reston century is that nearly half of the damn thing is now on the W&OD trail. I doubt seriously I'll be doing this ride next year.
