It is time for the 4th annual April Fools Bicycle Ride in Milledgeville, GA, hosted by Rotary Club of Milledgeville and Bicycling Club of Milledgeville. We'll have fully supported rides of 8, 35, 48, 64 and 103 miles. There is even an unofficial 2 mile ride through downtown Milledgeville.

We have moved our start location back to downtown at GMC and the BBQ and party after the ride will be at the Oconee River Greenway. The routes will take in the Spring beauty of downtown Milledgeville and many of our favorite rural roads. As always, the ride will benefit bicycling advocacy and safety efforts in the area and promoting healthy, active lifestyles.

We hope you will join us for a great day of celebrating bicycling,

I was just up there on business and thought it looked like a nice place to ride. I'm hoping to get there for the event.

Thinking about it. How hilly are the 48 and 64 mile routes. Anything like the east side of Atlanta?

Mapquest says it will take just under 2 hours to drive there. That means if I do the 48 mile ride I have to leave home around 6:00 - 6:15 AM, which means get up and disturb the wife around 5:15 - 5:30 AM. If I do the 64 mile ride the times are ~ 1 hour earlier. How badly will my wife beat me for waking her that early? :twitchy:

Sorry I didn't see this and reply sooner. Two hours from Decatur sounds about right. There are some hills on the 64 and 48 mile routes, but nothing extreme. I can't answer the question about your wife. Mine sleeps just fine when I leave in the wee hours for a distant ride.

The forecast is for a nice sunny day with temps in the 70s. The trees are in full bloom and putting on a colorful show. It is going to be a great day for a ride and for eating and hanging out at the Greenway Riverwalk afterward.
