    Cycling around Panama City

I'm going to be at Tyndall AFB for the summer and I'm trying to get information about rides, roads, etc. in the Panama City area.
Flying a jet is no different than riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

You will definitely want to ride on 30A. There is a dedicated path which is 18 miles long between Destin and Panama City along scenic 30A. I ride it often.

Another great coastal ride is just southeast from Tyndall. Start at the south end of Mexico Beach and head towards Port St Joe. A couple of miles south of PSJ, turn onto highway 30A and head out to St Joseph Peninsula. It makes a sort of U shape bend out into the gulf. This is a beautiful coastal zone, not heavily developed like Panama City. It makes me sick to think of what could happen if the giant oil slick heads down that way.

Thanks. I'm headed down that way Saturday.
